Jones Brothers Trucking

Hello all, again. Well, I'm still thumping, looking for work. I do have several inquiries out.

Has anyone experienced Jones Brothers Trucking? They are advertising for drivers with 2 years experience, however, if you don't have 2 years or no flatbed experience, they will train you. Also, they will train for your CDL and new drivers.

Any advice or actual knowledge would greatly be appreciated!! Thank you.

when the last comany i worked for went all o/o or l/p...we lost quite a few drivers to them...and i recently bumped into one of my friends who now works there

he said he liked the company, they keep him movin and makin money, and he gets home when he wants to...but expect 6 weeks out

he wasnt to impressed with the pete 378, the heavy slider trailer or all the canadian running he did

my own experiance was quite differnt...when i was lookin to hire on, was told they could not nor would not get me home once a month for drill...so that ended that potential job

for where you live i would look into watkins shepard...after 3 months pullin a van you can train for the flatbed division.....refer to danc694u for info about them

but above all...do not call davis...you dont have the required experiance and you DO NOT want in on thier l/p deal

Thank you for the quick response, broncrider.

Their ad claims 3 weeks out, Canada is optional.

Once again, thank you for the advice.

I should add also, that I did try Watkins/Shepard. I was out of driving for awhile and I let my CDL expire, bad mistake. I took a CDL course from R.E.A.D.I. Workforce, they are out of Belgrade. Watkins/Shepard does not recognize them as an accredited school however.

Thank you, again.

Thank you broncrider and bobabooy for the suggestions. Most appreciated.

broncrider, I have considered hauling livestock. I put apps with a couple places. One was in Clydepark. Haven't heard back yet. I figured they were out yet.

I did just get back from an interview in Gillette. The interview went pretty well. Waiting for background to come back, should be 4-5 days. It don't pay that well, but the benefits are great!!

I thought I read, somewhere, that Jim Palmer went bankrupt. I did notice 6 Palmer trucks on road, coming back from Gillette.

Anyway, thanks again!

broncrider: Thanks again for the advice!! I thought I'd heard something on the news on Palmer. I didn't catch the whole story. I wasn't sure if they went broke or filed chapter 11. I hope it works out for them.

Things are starting to look up!! I've had a couple of call backs that are looking very promising. I made the rounds in Wyoming, Gillete, Casper, New Castle, Cheyenne. Mostly tanker, hauling blasting devices. I've also heard back from a couple of places here in Mt.. I've got a full week ahead.

Anyway, keeping all posted. I really appreciate all of the suggessions and advice from all. Thank you!!.
