OK! I know there are several threads about Perkins Specialized Transportation! But I am the wife of one of their Leae Operators and I want you to really know what's going on over there.

My husband works 7 days a week 24 hours a day. He rarely turns freight down and tries not to ask to come home often. Even though I have NEVER seen him gone as much as he is now. When he does make it home this is how it is:

1. The Sheriff is here with an Eviction Notice
2. Out Satellitte TV has a message that says make your payment immediately
3. There isn't any good food in the house
4. We can't afford to sneak off to breakfast the next morning
5. Cell phone (a requirement for Perkins) is always on the verge of being disconnected.
6. There is no gas in our car.

I could go on and on but I'm sure you get the picture. Our checks are NEGATIVE all the time. And they will lend you some money but it's only 500 what can I pay with 500?

They lost his paperwork for a load and they were going to deduct the pay from his settlement a few weeks ago. They SAY they could not get a copy. Well it took me 15 minutes on the phone and I had a copy faxed to my home with a signature and a packing list!!! They are liars, thier lease purchase program is terrible. And even IF you can pay the truck off in the end all you will have is a truck with too many miles on it, it's not worth anything and NOTHING ELSE!!! NO HOME, NO CAR, NO CREDIT!!!!!! Also, this is the ONLY COMPANY I have seen that will not speak to the drivers spouse. I am the one who is home getting the pay sheets, my husband can't talk about his pay sheet with anyone when he doesn't have it infront ofhim! They are dirty and if you call them on it they hang up on you. I had one lady in the office tell me (remind you that I too have been in this business in the administrative capacity for many years) she asked me "don't tell me how to do my job what do you think I do here 40 hours a week?" you know what my reply was? I said, "You sit at your desk and figure out how to screw your drivers" SHE HUNG UP!

This company is horrible and I can't wait until someone finds a way to expose their "dirty" business tactics!!! Dispatchers claim they are only messangers, then the "bosses" say they will talk to the load planners, its a huge run around and if anyone knows who we can complain to I would truly appreciate it. I know OOIDA is not helping but I think they may be in Perkins Pocket!!! We'll see!

You don't know how right you are.I tried them last year and for 2 months I done pretty good and then the last month I went in the hole every week.They want the driver to run enough to keep the truck payments going and for them to show a profit and screw the driver,they get them into a financial crunch so they have to stay out longer to make ends meet and the only thing that happens is the driver goes deeper in the hole.
