I've heard from many drivers who like Maverick. Since I also haul flatbed I talk to there drivers all the time. There lease deal seems to be good to. They charge a decent price for there trucks. Also they are very picky about who they hire.

Time will tell
We have always ran empty. If we are in a area where there is a lot of us or freight is slow there they will bounce us to get a load. It pays the driver more to run empty. It helps the fuel bonus and we are paid the same loaded or empty.

I would not trust this company. They will give you all those great certificates of great appreciation of service and then cut your throat. See very few trucks on the road anymore not like we use to. They will make your DAC report dirty so you cant get another job, they did that to me after 3 yrs of clean service. I had a few oops but nothing major. But you are going to have oops when you drive 100k miles a year. They were a great company until the economy got bad then it was Maverick first Driver last. For us older drivers Im glad Im outta there. Found something better and still get home on weekends. Good luck new drivers just watch your P's and Q's.

Just curious, did Maverick turn the trucks down more, or are more drivers driving slower to save their jobs? I ask this cause more n more I pass (i'm governed at 65) more Mav trucks going abt 60mph than SWIFT or big Orange. Try to holler at the Mav drivers but never an answer back.

turned em' down when fuel went up (never had mine turned up anyway), then they ask you to drive slower and cry becasue if you "run against the govener" it uses more fuel....
-my budy tells me their trying to get drivers to get higher mpg (moving up the expectations).....even though fuel $ dropped....
-he almost quit this weekend....I think his frustration level is going up, honestly ....I keep telln' him things are bad everywhere now....he better stay put tel' he has a sure thing. at the same time, tryn' find something before they #### up his dac....

2 years, 200,000....CLEAN mvr, now doubles, triples, hazmat....and one ###### up dac, courtesy of maverick.
-#### em', got a real job now....if i ever go over the road again, it'll be in my own truck....where a scraped up bumper on concrete isn't a career ender for a driver....where they won't lie to you about why your comming to the main terminal- so your wife ends up having to load up your baby girl and drive all the ####### way to north little rock....
-it's a cutthroat business kids....buckle up and grab some vasoline, your gonna need it....

-my advise?....use them before they use you....

I was loading beside a Maverick driver at a mill in Pittsburgh and the crane operater brought the coil down wrong and hit the rub rail on his flat denting it, the kid almost started to cry because he thought he was going to get fired. 1. I love driving truck and liked everbody who I have driven for but not one of them have been good enough that I would cry over. 2. what type of company would have a kid so terrerized that he was scared of losing his job over something that was not his fault. They sound like a bunch of A-holes to work for. The job is tough enough on the youngsters without making it worse for them

Hay SUNARAB, FARBER
I drive over 100,000 miles a year, and I don't have these ooop's.
Maverick dose not screw up your dac. reports, you do by your own actions. If you don't hit things then Maverick can't report that you did hit something. That is the problem with most of you newbys, you always want to blame the company for all your problem. You ran me to hard, the directions were not right, etc. You are the driver of the truck, you make the desicions right or wrong no one else. Farber, you have worked for one company your whole life, you dinged up the equipment 5 different times, Sorry you dac. is screwed up and your having a hard time getting a job. I don't see how you can keep blaming Maverick for all your troubles. I wish you would go buy a truck and see what trucking is really all about. I think you should have to work for more then just one company before you can start judging them. I have been in the trucking business for over 30 years and worked for over 20 different companys - 18 years as a owner operator and 12 as a company suck. In my 30 years of trucking I can say, only 3 companys have been really good companys to work for and Maverick is one of them. The reason Maverick trucks drive slower the company is only pushing for better fuel milage, which only means more money in your pocket. I get a 2 cent or better bonse every quarter.
