i had heard from a seven year driver the night b4 termination about the football game, the office staff going to a bunch of blah, blah- when it used to be x-drivers as fleet managers, and i was about to break the .40cent plus vaca u speak of. I didn't want to start slamming the company but surely appreciate hearing your thoughts and am glad someone did it for me. Thank you. I'd also heard that the drivers on top page of senority are on what i call the x-list, that they have to much vaca. and are looking for reasons to fire them. this is to bad.

Faber,

Thats typical of any company when they start downsizing. To cut employees who make too much, or have too much on the books. Trucking or other industry.

I believe the amount they lost last year was around $27 million. So I was wondering how long before the axe fell on you guys.

Good Luck

Very much agreed, and hopefully this will prove a warning to rookies and other drivers there.....I'm fine with the situation and trying to avoid to much trash talking from myself- it others wish to, i certainly understand.
- Also I love the obama/marxist comment....

You're going to give me a complex. I was beginning to think there were only 2 of us within the forum that wasn't in a total panic with the current situation. Economically speaking of course.

Wow! U got a good deal going! Most of two years i was in anywhere from late late fri. to sat. afternoon and back out sunday night. Most drivers i've talke to are bout' the same. And that's not complaining- i counted myself lucky not to be working somewhere coming home once evry two or three weeks. And I wondered about the rub rail to....forklift maybe?

A lot of it has too do with where you live. I am in a good area, but do not always get in like that. OK is not a real good place for us. I would take freight in there, but bounce out to load. I imagine that you loaded at mac steel a lot? Forklift I could see bumping it, but removing it?

yep, got the bounce to ft. smith allot, then freight seemed to drop there at mac recently, also bounced to fletcher and duke before the housing market flop and closing the mangum terminal. But hey they pay empty, and u gotta give em credit for that. - I was thinking of one of those huge i-beam forklifts and a incompitant driver....was just guessing. I'm with you, it's got me curious. that's allot of welds to break off. Not that I'm saying he's lying, I really just like to know what managed to do that.

Strange day today...ran past several Maverick drivers. Talked to a couple for a few minutes, and when I brought up drivers being layed off/fired. The radio went dead.

Makes you wonder eh?
