hey draggin.

talked to them today and offered 2 recent paystubs and print out from my employee self service that shows when i started with the company. still hell bent on talking to someone and i dont know why.

just think its a little ridicoulous, every other company i applied to ahs already got the verifications they need and basically told me to give them a call when im ready for an orientation. Not only that since im on the "waiting list" i could get called at any time. which would basically mean i wouldnt be able to put in my 2 weeks with my current job.

Maverick is a good company to start atand i want to start there , but i dont want to screw up the bonus check im supposed to get and want to be able to give 2 weeks so that i will get all my vacation and personal leave paid out once i leave.

So the ? i pose is should i even keep this goin with them or pick another company from list???

IMO, that comes down to your own personal preference. Sorry not to give better news. I will never burn a bridge with an employer. Not only is that that you never know if you will need to come back but its just not professional. There are a lot of companies who refuse to verify employment and some have 1800 numbers just for that purpose. Some insurance companies and credit companies verify employment so your current employer may think nothing of it. Its your judgment call there buddy. Let us know how it goes.

I found out that maverick is getting rid of drivers that are on probation. I was told that that the insurance is saying that they are a liability. As far as them not having any money they just bought 500 trucks so there goes that theory.

Talking with 2 drivers tonight on the way in. They also have 50 new hires going through training/orientation now. With another batch arriving on sunday.

So not all is bleek

Thanks for all the input on this page ...i`m new to this and looking to find a school. but just from reading so far its very obivous what is going on..new coo and the school...school being the key and the point system.Train new drivers and lay of top earners. I used to drive school bus for 9 years...loved it...but inthe last 4 new coo and new school for drivers and points and the moral went through the floor. I left on good terms. But would never want to work in that envoirment again..this sort of thing is a sign of the times and in many ways like a cancer because it kills good companys, while the goal is to save money , in the end it only looses.....lifes to short....anyway just wanted to comment....ps anyone know if may trucking is a good company....they have a base in brooks oregon where i live?

I am not a new driver and was just rehired by them. If that was the goal they would have not brought me back on.

Yeah, I allowed myself to be exposed to various, extremely harmful chemicals in - another age/time of my life - I quit worrying about it. Life will end when it ends - but preferrably not to some horrific cancer or other traumatic illness/disease that leads to a painful, slow death.

I just left them - earlier this week. I was very happy working for them. No pay problems, no talking out of both sides of their mouths about safety and logs (if you can't deliver legally, tell them from the get-go. you won't get sat on the side of th' road for a week as punishment)

I got along great with my DMs, too
