MVR & DAC

I read alot of forums on drivers that can't find a job because of their dac and/or mvr.I find reading the forums to be great therapy because i'm one of those drivers that can't find a job.So many drivers can't find a job because the companies tarnished their dacs.Alot of these drivers I bet are excellent drivers and are guilty of nothing me included. But because they either quit or got fired, the companies will stop at nothing to lie on your dac because they now have great animosity(or however it's spelled)for those drivers. The dac is nothing but a joke.So many things on it are nothing but lies. But can we prove that, nope because as the company sees it,the driver is at fault no matter what. Then the MVR there are alot of drivers that had violations back in the 90s but still can't find a job.Cmon companies LET IT GO.The trucken industry is so federal regulated its as hard to find a trk driving job as it would be looking for a government job.Your dac and mvr almost has to be spotless before a company would even consider you.Unless u wanna drive for a company you won't be happy with like Werner,Swift,CR England, and JBhunt.People deserve second chances. Some of the best drivers out there are the ones that can't find a job.Everybody deserves a second chance but as the trucken industry sees it,nobody deserves second chances.Alot of them cant find work because the companies lied on their dacs.In my case its my MVR. I have a reckless violation only thing is I was'nt driving.I figured the officer would give me a no parking ticket.I should have looked at the ticket but I did'nt.So now unless I find a company that'll hire me I have to wait 2 yrs be4 anyone will hire me,That's when the violation will be off my MVR. I want to wish the best of luck to all the drivers that can't find a job.Just keep on looking. It's pretty grimm for me but i'm not giving up. Sincerely Patty

I would suggest that

A) if the DAC is incorrect, challenge it. even if not changed, your challenge will appear

B ) Let's just pretend I own 200 or so trucks. I have - on any given monday - 4 jobs opening up. I have 36 applicants for those jobs. You suggest that I award one of these jobs - which involves possession and control of a $100K piece of machinery - to somebody who has a history (no mater how ancient) of doing something stupid in a vehicle, instead of the applicant who does NOT have a history?

C) methinks there's more to it than you are letting on. My DAC is hardly spotless - after only 4 months on the road. Yet I've talked to a number of mid-sized companies who aren't worried about the accident or the OOS. To be honest, nobody's hired me yet. But that's at least partly due to the fact that I only started submitting applications late last week.

D) "Everybody deserves a second chance" and "Company you won't be happy with like Werner [et al]". I don't suppose that, given that so many drivers (me included) have blown their first chance that their second chance IS with Werner, Swift, etc?

Individually, it sounds as though your ticket was for something like "failure to obey traffic signs"- it's happening more and more as truckers continue to park in places clearly marked "No Parking". Yup,it's a reckless driving ticket. This is where those pre-paid legal people come in handy.

this old guy who did my road test at arnold said alot of co's are starting to go alot easier on slamming a drivers DAC because of lawsuits. like for example my termination at USA was put on there as "violation of company policy" they wouldnt put the actual reason (power inverter)

Did you fight the ticket in court? if not you should of.
A reckless driving ticket will haunt you for a long while.

If you fought the ticket in court you have the oppertunity to talk with the prosecutor and they can usually make a good deal for you.

If it was just a stupid no parking violation you could of pointed it out that he wrote the ticket for reckless driving instead of no parking.

No truckers should park on the sholders or on/off ramps at anytime unless it is an emergency.

Runnig out of time is not an emergncy as you are suppose to know when you are getting close on your driving time running out and have a place planned to stop.

It is a matter of trip planning I usually estimated that I would get aprox 600-700 miles in one day but that was back when the truck I was driving would do 65 mph. I also had to play with the stops a little to make this work.

If you do the math I would of had to adverage about 64 mph the whole time.

The only way I was able to do that is on down hill were it was not too steep and not too curvy I could run my truck up to 71 mph down hill if it hit 72 mph it would start counting the overspeed and notify my dm if it got too high.

To be more realistic though you should plan on going no more than 550-600 that way you have extra time incase of traffic is bad.

Then look up in the truckstop guide that you can get at most places for 15.00 for a place that is in the 550-600 mile range and plan on stopping there.
If there are no parking spots avalible at that truckstop look and see were the next one was if it was close enough and you had the time go to the next one.

If you ran out of time then find a spot out of the way a park there temporarly.

I have parked on a side road ""not highway"" were there were no no parking signs and have not had any issues.

I only would stop on the sholder providing it was stong enough for the truck and trailer to check the tires if I thought something was wrong I there was an on/off ranp I would stop on the on ramp to check things out.

I only stoped in those areas for a minute or two that way if a cop would pull up and ask what I was doing parking there in a no parking area.

I would say well officer I thought something was wrong so for my saftey and the saftey of the others I stopped to check it out.

They can not really write you up if do a saftey stop and if they do all you have to do is go to court and fight it explaining to the judge that it was mearly a saftey stop.

I would say for that most judges would toss the ticket unless the officer can testify that your saftey stop lasted for more than a few minutes if the issue is visibale to him or her. Ie blown tire

In all my time driving OTR I never could not find a legal place to park. When I went to shippers or receivers I always checked out if there was parking nearby so if I got sent back there I would know if I could park in the area before pu or del.
