i agree with you completely my husband has been with melton for a year.... his miles suck they dont care about their drivers or their families... i don't care what anyone says.... i was recently put into the hospital due to pregnancy complications.... still dont know what is going on with the baby for sure.... and any man wants to be home to make sure that their child and wife are safe.... melton refused that.... he was out for 3 weeks came in was home about 12 hrs before they put another load on him on his hometime.... had him working repowering a driver gave him one day at home and then hes gone again..... they do treat their drivers like little kids.... i have never seen a company this bad off..... my husbands friend works for melton got 120 miles this week his truck is broke down they refuse to put them up in a motel..... want them to sit in 100 degree weather..... they are not who they say they are at all and for the post that says if the driver cares about the company then the company cares about you thats crap.... he has done everything they have asked him to do with no complaints..... never turned down a load.... nothing like that... but yet he is still lied to and treated badly like the rest of the melton drivers.... and they do give the good miles and good treatment to the new drivers trying to keep them in there...... boy are they in for a shock!

I understand everyone has issues out on the road, its a rough life, and i feel bad for everyone who has bad experiences with trucking companies, there are alot of bad ones big and small, I worked for melton for over a year and in my opinion, the best flatbed company i ever worked for. If you can't stay on the road and be a real OTR driver, probably not the best company in the world, But i Made more money in a year working for melton as a company driver than anyone i have ever worked for, Over $54,000. I ran 5 weeks on and one week off, and my dispacher was cool with that. I understand that doesn't work for alot of people, but it is what you make of it. After a lay off from a local company and a BS experience with B&T express in N. Lima ohio, i am going back to melton after next week and look forward to making money again. I figure if i dont let the BS of the trucking biz get to me, i can at least make a paycheck again. I never had anything on my DAC from leaving melton. I SUGGEST if you have problems with your company, bite your tounge and give 2 weeks notice, don't tell your dispacher to F-off and then wonder why you get a terrible reference when you try to get another JOB!!!!

Peace, keep it between the lines and dont reply to this while your driving, lol

I think that everyone will complain about a company if the company if its not exactly what that person wants or makes them mad

Land of the ripped off where your representatives and govt won't do anything abuse these abuses. Then dictators are considered barbaric, what's the difference between companies like these and living in afghanistan/iraq or anywhere in the middle-east? Not bad-mouthing anyone, but where is the REASONING, civility, and so-called freedoms for all! Freedom to be screwed over is more it. Please the "higher-ups" make them more money, be a good employee, follow instruction, don't question the people that "run" the economy. They are Gods, They create jobs, what about you? Do you have influence in policy? Oh wait a minute, it's time to play cat and mouse with the highway patrol and dispatch. What a life!!! It's great isn't it!!!

Melton is a great place to work if you like to tarp 400 mile overnight loads, get led around by the nose, micro-managed so bad they know everytime you fart, and love getting about 2000 miles a week if your lucky. Then you must stay out 4 weeks at a time minimum, and if your unlucky enough to live around Tulsa, you get the fun of sitting around there all day while the truck gets maintance, and they have the gall to count that as part of your hometime. The logbook must match the computer exactly, and you must show it everytime you get to Tulsa. Never got to laredo so who knows what goes on there. Plus they want to tell you how and when to shift if you overrev one time. Let these clowns hire robots. I fired them after two months with a rookie fleet mgr!

I now bought a truck and trailer, leased on to a good flatbed carrier, my avg lenght of haul is around 2300 miles, I am never pushed, I pick my loads, and after a year and a half, I can count my under 500 mile loads on one hand. I pay for everything and still make more then I did at Melton! And these people still call me wanting me to rehire! ROFLMAO!

wow the nerve to call you for rehire, i guess they think everyone is a desperado right. if you're a rookie, it's probably good to get the experience, but the hell they fart around treating all drivers as if they just came out of driving school. thats the worst, hell i'd give'em two weeks as well. yeah there are good companies still out there, they re just hard to find....best kept secret right! glad youre happy where you are, keep on trucking brother!!!
