No trucking Company's left to work for??

Is there any trucking company's left to work for that you have not listed here? they can't all be bad I wonder what they would say about you all. There's two sides to every story. So guys and gal's give them a break. Please take a time to cool down before you post they may not be as bad as you thank.
In my forty years trucking I quite a lot of Good jobs because I just got pissed off and was taird. The next day I was sorry I did. So thank twice. Danny a retired trucker
PS I worked for several of these folks and found them to fair and honest people to work for.

Very Wise advice Danny, and I think it holds true to ALL jobs not just the trucking industry

i agree, but, alot of these companies are only "sausage makers". they process you and spit you out. they either offer crappy equipment, and or low miles ,lack of interest in treating you like an adult or human, because to them all that matters is the bottom line of making money to fill their pockets and not yours/ours.
i understand that they are here for the money, but what they ask you to do is not totally ethical or legal or humane. such as barring you from idleing to keep cool or warm and to get the proper rest to run and make money.
call me cynical, but that is exactly what i am.........
best wishes to all the sausages out here, keep up the good work letting everyone know what despots these companies are.

Well said, zedanny. Yet many will counter your post. Just like mcr6468 ho says he agrees ad then makes the exact comments you addressed. Mcr6468, if trucking is so horrible then why are you still doing it? I doubt anyone is holding a gun to your head telling you to drive a truck. Go find some other work. The reality is EVERY company, trucking and non-trucking, is looking out for their bottom line. They did not go in business to give you a job, they went into business to make a profit. And when you look at how narrow the profit margin is for most trucking companies (less than 10%) it is obvious they are not getting rich at it. If you want to bea trucker and ALL the companies are "sausage grinders" then why not buy your own truck, get your own authority and run your own trucking company the way a trucking company should be run. Then if you get treated like sausage, you will have no one to blame but yourself.

I think people get into trucking thinking that they are going to have a life like smokey and the bandit or B.J and the bear or any of the other trucking movies. This drives thier expectations way to high. Fact is, trucking company's are no different than any other company. My mother in law works for Pepsi. She always has someone watching her waiting to pounce if she makes a wrong move. I think I would go postal in there if it were me. My stepson works in a mine where everyone wants to be a chief and you can be run off if a supervisor happens to not like you.

A job is where people go to "work". Most of the time "work" is not fun. We work to earn money to pay our bills. When we are home we are free to have fun, relax, enjoy our life. Complaining about how bad our work sucks is just making "work" worse on ourselves and stresses out anyone listening. So. Go to work, earn money. Go home, enjoy life.......Peace
