Go to the USIS website. There is a link there for a downloadable form. Print the form and send it to the address listed. Within 15 business days of receipt you will be sent a copy of your DAC. Review it and, if in fact there is an abandonment on there, go back to the website and click the link for the rebuttal form. Submit that to USIS and they will add it to your DAC. DAC is covered under the Fair Credit Reporting Act and so it is treated like a credit report. Hope this is a help.

You are probably correct in your thoughts that it was not on there yet. Wanting to give the benefit of the doubt, they may have gotten it on the wrong record. Under FCRA a driver is allowed a free DAC each year. It would probably be as prudent for us each to get our free copy each year, just like a credit report, to ensure the info is accurate.

The problem with dacfix is that they charge for their services and we are entitled to a free report and free rebuttal. They really cannot do anything to repair the report since the company is closed. All they can do is help get a rebuttal on there and that is actually a free service under FCRA. They are really like companies that charge to fix a credit report. They almost always cannot do any more than an individual can do for free. And again in this case where the company is closed, whereas in some cases they may be able to pressure a company to remove incorrect info, the company is no longer there to try to force a change.

So NFI hired you and now you need another job? Did you quit NFI? If so, why? While I think that DAC is a joke, you don't seem to have a very good track record for staying employed at any one company. Why do you think that is?

Well if you send in the rebuttal, and the company that put the abandonment on your record is out of biz, then how can DAC verify the abandonment? Was wondering about that.
