I been working for CRST and i had enough.I never seen so much BS, no miles , pay sucks and the attitude of this company and most companies is ##.The selfishness and greed of these companies are just out there...Its all them and not you...I expect to go back to Georgia and go to Dept of Labor , then area congressman and senator and start fileing complaints..This is all indentured servitude..i wish people start to do the same maybe the pendulum could then start swing back to us.....:biggrin_25512:

If you are going to file all these complaints, I hope you have documentation to back up your issues. You need to have facts man, written facts. Dates, times, miles, everything to back up your claim that you are getting jobbed. Without that you will just get blown off as another complainer.
At my company, if I have a problem, I put it in writing and try to add a suggestion to correct the problem. That leaves a "paper trail" and just maybe it will get more attention then just a verbal #####.

Companies are in business to make money. That is the purpose of being in business. CRST is one of the low end of the food chain trucking companies. Find a different outfit and move on.

Miles at most companies are dropping all over the place. At all companies, there are dispatchers/DM's that are good and ones that are not. It's the nature of the biz. If your DM isn't getting you miles, you talk to them. If that doesn't do any good, you go above their head. If that doesn't work, you move on to another company.

If you think anything is going to be done about it, you couldn't be more wrong.

The only way a company will be put out of business is to lose too many of their drivers or shippers. Since there are always people out there that do not really research what they are getting into before getting into it, it is not likely that they will go out of business any time soon.

Unfortunately this may need some federal requirements before the companies might behave. At this time we the workforce have no value as companies know there is some other poor bloke out there that thinks going elsewhere will make life better.

But making the company responsible is only part of the problem. Other parts include management that dont care. Managers are supposed to manage their work force. Alas this day and age isnt on being sensible towards the satisfaction of the employees, yet.

Maybe the new administration will note some of the shortfalls. Maybe not.

If you want the job, we must take the manure that goes along with it. Everyone applies it, everyone gets to slog through it. We just need a better recycler to deal with it. :biggrin_2551:

If the companies would stop hiring college students and grads and look for people with actual trucking industry experience, some of the problems might be eliminated. Unfortunately, some business owners and managers think a college degree makes a person smarter.

The local Pepsi distribution center learned that the hard way not too long ago. The placement director at the school I went through for my CDL is a family friend. He told me that Pepsi had brought in this guy with a college degree who decided that they needed to ge the bigger trailers for making the local deliveries, and be able to combine some routes, thereby eliminating some drivers.

They ordered a bunch of these things, and they are not cheap. Couldn't load any more product on those than the old ones, so they spent a bunch of money on larger trailers that cannot be used the way this college genius intended. Guess who got canned? Mr. College educated. Had they hired someone that knows about weight limits, etc which someone in the industry would know about, they wouldn't have spent all that money on those trailers.

Not to mention accessability issues with those bigger trailers.

What good is having a bigger trailer if you can't get within a mile of where you're trying to deliver to?
