What ever you do if you live anywhere in the carolinas do not lease your power onto this company to pull in there van division. They have the fakest landstar system you have ever experienced. There load board only has about a min of 2 van loads on it per day reffering to my area of north carolina. And majority of the time those loads are just to get feelers on what a driver would pull it for. BECAUSE They DONT actually exist yet lol THEN they tell you u get 75% of the gross. Then after you lease on they tell you 8% percent goes to what ever agencies trailer your pulling. So u end up with 68% of the LH plus whatever they want to break out to tell you for fuel SC. None of there agents have there own customer base. They all call other agents to get freight for you off of various load boards lol is this typical for agent based companies or is this a joke? All of the ones ive come across all ask for your number and tell you they will look for you something..lol but never call you back. Its funny sometimes then it gets very frustrating to know your paying a large percentage of your revenue to someone so you can do there job. By looking at load boards all around trying to find your self a load. There loads are 2nd and 3rd string brokered. I'm going to do a video documentary of what a typical day is like dealing with universal am cam agents then im going to post it on youtube for all to see. I know im leaving out alot of information. But as questions come in ill add more information. Fee free to ask me anything you like.

A lot of the problems from agents I have seen lately is the favortism. Since times have gotten tough they have closed ranks and load their buddy's truck before anybody else and they seem to work out deals with other agents to take care of each others trucks. I don't know if this is happening at Universal Am-Can, but I have seen it a Landstar and other companies. I just got away from the whole agent thing and pick my loads off of Schneiders load board and don't have to deal with anybody, but myself.

    Bingo! You got it!

I was under the impression that he also owned Universal AmCam too. But, guess I was wrong. First time today LOL Or maybe he had it at one time and sold it. Who knows these days.

You are so correct on that one! You 68% of the LH. Have you read your contract? It probably says: 68% of the "Adjusted" Gross. That means when it goes through 2 or three different hands, that gross is cut down ,and then your company deducts the 68% after everyones cut.
Does Universal pay you the settlements?
From what I understand, Great American owns all these sister companies. Like Universal Am Cam and PAM and a few others. We're Leased on with LGH out of NC, who is also a sister company of Great American. Great American actually makes out the settlements. And it says on the Lease Contract, about the Adjusted Gross. Though we're only getting 67% .

They Are BIG RIP OFFS! How would you like to get paid 500 hard earn dollars from the northeast down to miami Fl ?
That's what it just about costs for your Fuel for the run down there. You're lucky if you profit 100 bucks.
These companies are a joke and I wish and pray something is done about these companies. They go home with a paycheck every week. But not the drivers.

    Companies shouldn't Broker Loads.
They should have their Own Customers!!!!!. Broker Loads are only good for when your truck is sitting too long and you take a broker load that pays only enough for your fuel., to get out of that area.

If any Owner Operator signs on with a Company.... ASK Them if they have their OWN Customers and How Many. Then ask what type of freight is it.
