North American Tank Lines - Lake Wales, Fla.

Located in Lake Wales, Florida and owned by Indian River Transport, they tend to make there own rules. They will not pay good drivers top pay because the driver may drive a Peterbilt instead of a Mack. Most of the Mack drivers cannot be on time at either end, but get the highest pay. The drivers that can do the job and be on time even if they drive a Peterbilt just barely gets a "Thank You" from dispatch.

it's true

actually, indian river and north american are both owned by heritage management. used to just be indian river, but a few years ago there was some scandal (which got into the media) involving them hauling contaminated product, so to get back into sunkist's good graces they started north american.

as far as them screwing drivers, nothing could be more accurate. they still owe me money. worse, they pay drivers on a per diem system that i'm convinced is a scam. the payroll documentation they furnish drivers is so convoluted that no harvard educated accountant could figure it out, and they offer no other choice - per diem or nothing. when i asked payroll to explain it - that inquiry was taken in the same way as if i'd asked if their mama was still hooking - complete hostility. the last month i worked there, i was running over 5000 miles per week (really!- but that's another story) and bringing home about $900 per week. that was all i needed of indian river.

and the earlier poster is correct - their dispatchers are the nastiest bunch i've ever run across, which would be OK, except that they are also lousy dispatchers. incompetence and arrogance are a bad combination.

so do yourself a favor and stay away.

I worked for Paramarine, which was owned by Indian River and they run my ### off.Paramarine was a seperate dispatch system, but I heard about how crooked Indian River dispatchers were,so the previous drivers complaints sound accurate.
