I am an SRT driver and have been with there fleet for 2 years, and yes they to WERE a good company. While they may pay $50 if they don't get you home on time, they will also charge $1.25 a mile over 200 miles to get you there (or you can sit until they find a load to take you closer). Also if you are home past the date you are supposes come off of home time they will charge you $100 dollars a day until you are back on the road. Having governed there trucks back to 65mph, and a 9000miles over the last 4weeks Cleaning my truck out as soon as they get me home

SRT is a awsome company....Great miles good customers and quality freight....just my opinion....but I think they are one of the best out there. I never ran less than 13k miles a month. I went out with a knee injury and was out a while not driving. BUT...They run alot of coast to coast, but you have to run it legal and be on time!!! If you cant seem to get there on time with your loads, you wont get the miles....and eventually they will start screwing with ya till you pack it up and leave. I work local now but if I was headed back OTR that S.R.T. would be my first stop to check with. Like I said this is my opinion...I am sure there will be a few knuckleheads with their 2 cents that will try to #### on the company or my post....but it has been my experience that all of these companies are basically the same....and if you can "play the game" by their rules the way they want you to play it....you can (and most the time will) be successful and make money....And for the ones that dont want to play by company rules...GO BUY YOUR OWN TRUCK AND MAKE YOUR OWN RULES!

Go BAMA...ROLL TIDE!!!!!!

Used to be

Srt used to be one of the best company's in existence, they have however become Covantised. At one time i used to Run 12k+ a month with good freight. I have recently handed in my truck, more from recent policy changes than lack of miles. They have made there per diem mandatory with a 3cpm handling fee on it are charging $100 a day if you stay home past your home time and are charging $1.25 a mile over 200 miles to go home or you can wait for a load to get you closer and they really don't work too hard to find you one. The Shop has gone to heck. I turned a new to me truck in 7 times over 2.5 days before everything i had written up had been fixed. If its not warranty they don't want to do it even if it is a safety issue. Oh and if theres something wrong that they "can't seem to find" you must be trying to get a new truck what would you know anyway your just a stupid driver. Or at least thats the attitude i get from them recently.

I could start a whole days worth of rant on Being put on hold for 45min by safety while trying to "register" a hazmat load or Dispatch not giving a flying rats behind about the drivers anymore. But to sum it all up you get what you pay for in employees. SRT has become very miserly and the quality off all personnel has gone down the tubes.

bIGPHILBROWN;

hERE'S A THOUGHT IF YOU THINK THIS LOW LIFE GARBAGE COMPANY is so great try going back, sure they will welcome you with open arms and false promises they are offering old drivers a $1000 resign on bonus,but before the end of orientation they take it back. I also agree with you that you do have to play by the rules with most companies,but most companies don't look up your butt when signing papers to come on board and if they find something[and this co. looks hard believe me to hold over your head]to use against you,the owner at the motel they put drivers in even told me she feels sorry for us drivers because SRT just screws us over and makes them look bad because they offer a discount at $25.00 a night for a driver and the drivers think its their fault for what SRT does. They stole my money when I left after giving a 2wk notice,lied about getting me home I saw home once in 2months,lied when they said I could take the truck home and empty it out and drop off my pups,I got almost to OK when they qualcomm came on saying bring your truck and load back to the yard because the shop wants to check out the work I had done to it due to thier crappy work,they locked the truck in the shop and had me remove all my stuff and took it to the motel where the motel charged me $25.00 but SRT took $60.00 a night from my check and charged me for orientation time because if you leave before 6mos you are charged for orientation.
All they care about is the young students that they get paid from the Gov. Grants for training them,if they get into and they will!!get into a wreck they are fired and they ship more from the schools. And "WHERE" do 13K mi come from?? any driver is lucky to get 550mi a day,all the mi are proven by all the pi....ssed off drivers who have been shorted or not given those so called long miles,if you got them[sorry I doubt it}good for you I guess you had an in somewhere, I know for myself I drove hard and was on time!!! as well as the other drivers have also. Thier trucks are broken down and when they do try repair them they don't inspect thier work[Im proven fact of that]well have a Merry Holiday,
p.s. Justin is a troll with no heart or brains about running a company

Water Hot4 SRT; Neither Bad nor Great

Hi all!

I'm a former SRT driver. I drove for the company for 6 years. During the
course of my first 4 years with them, they made continual improvements;
& provided (annual) pay raises. Then, they built & relocated to their
current terminal, located in Texarkana, AR. About a year before I left,
they cut top pay by 4CPM. Those of us, like myself, who had been
around for awhile, continued to receive the per mile pay they had been,
prior to the cut; but, there were (no more pay raises) during that next
2 year period. I was with them form 2002-2008. There had been
discussions that drivers would, without option, go to a (per diem) pay
system: My experience in that system, while with C.R. England, is
that it is a (smoke & mirrors) pay system, i.e., it looks good on paper;
but, in reality, the driver (looses) money! I do not know if they adopted
that plan or scrapped it. (?) What I do know, is that shortly after they
moved into their new terminal, they dropped the top pay rate to 36CPM.
I do not know if any further changes have occured since I left. (?)
SRT held promise of becoming an (excellent) company; but, failed to
hold to that pattern. Have they become a (bad) company? I do not
know. (?) For the sake of all, I hope they returned to their former trend
toward excellence. I did not leave as a result of personal (dis-
satisfaction). I left because of an assignment to establish a ministry
outreach in The Philippines.
God bless; & my best to all of you drivers; &, to SRT, Springloaded

SRT 240 hrs.

[quote=bigfella99;45014] 240 hours with a trainer, and then another 240 hours with another new hire student.

How are the hours calculated? 240 hrs. / 24 hrs. per day = 10 days?
