Springloaded, again. Former SRT driver, currently in The Philippines;
&, a bigggg Nooooo: SRT is (not) owned by Covenant; &, never
has been. There was another driver by the handle Jinx, who stated
the extent of the relationship between the 2 companies. There has
been an (assumption) out there for years, to the contrary; but, it
is just (wrong). Regards, Springloaded

Hi! Former SRT driver here; &, couple of quick things: First, I have to agree
with Sandds6489. Second, I concur with the statements made by
Vicsgto. One thing is sure, the "sharkish" attitudes of some drivers
has (not) changed since my departure from the trucking world: Give
it a rest!
Merry Christmas to all, Springloaded

Some insist that "good" drivers don't need maps.

I overheard one conversation that left me stunned. One such non-map reading moron was complaining that the straight truck he was driving didn't have power steering. Mind you, this is about a 2002 or so International 4900.

When asked why this truck didn't have power steering, the dummy in question said "Uh.... I dunno. That's just the way it's made." I shook my head in disbelief.

Ask any of the older guys on this site when the last time was they saw a heavy duty truck with no power steering, hence my amazement at the above statement.

Another idiot has a tendency to go to "freight collect" deliveries and forget to seek any payment from the consignee.

####### like that don't last long at any company. Unfortunately, we've been getting a lot of those lately.
I've gotta tell you, that was flat out hilarious! I had similar thoughts
& frusterations, when I used to drive.

They have made there per diem mandatory with a 3cpm handling fee on it are charging $100 a day if you stay home past your home time and are charging $1.25 a mile over 200 miles to go home or you can wait for a load to get you closer and they really don't work too hard to find you one. The Shop has gone to heck. I turned a new to me truck in 7 times over 2.5 days before everything i had written up had been fixed. If its not warranty they don't want to do it even if it is a safety issue. Oh and if theres something wrong that they "can't seem to find" you must be trying to get a new truck what would you know anyway your just a stupid driver. Or at least thats the attitude i get from them recently.

I could start a whole days worth of rant on Being put on hold for 45min by safety while trying to "register" a hazmat load or Dispatch not giving a flying rats behind about the drivers anymore. But to sum it all up you get what you pay for in employees. SRT has become very miserly and the quality off all personnel has gone down the tubes.
Well, there you go: Lucky379 has confirmed the path that SRT, at
one time on the road to (excellence), has chosen to take. It's a shame,
really! They had the potential to be the (best) in the industry; but,
they've flushed all of that down the toilet; &, for what? I know things
that they do not; &, as long as they continue down the path they are
on, they will (not) prosper!
Hey, Lucky379, thanks for clearing this matter up! I believe what this
driver says because of the talk that I was hearing, about 2 months
before I left to go on a ministry assignment in The Philippines.
Regards, Springloaded/Former SRT driver

Certainly it is (possible) that Covenant (now) is in ownership of SRT; but,
I know (for sure), that was (not) the case at the time that I left the
company in April of this past year. (???)

Srt don't know what they are doing..they call you tell you that you have the job and come on can't wait to meet you..then you get there after a 24hr bus ride...got to orenitaion the first day get a truck and everything still thinking you have the job...(you tell them everything on your mvr the day they call you at home)then the 2nd day everything is fine til after lunch you get called out to be told they can't help you and they can't tell you why they will send you a letter...and the people up there tell you to be honest with them but not one of them are honest to you...and you did have to sign your life away...they know everything about you the first day....evn ask you if you get help from the government....and that doesn't even have anything to do with it going to work...go to a company that you can trust....do checks on them...before you get ur hopes up and think you got a job...and don't..

this is the scary part about getting hired by a company, everyhting is hunky-dory untill you get to orientation after an arse bruising ride, go through all the hoops...
and are told that you cannot be hired????????
the worst part is their cold attitutude towards the driver when asked--why?--
i was in orientation for usxpress, ther were 40+ there, a few days later one of the
headcutters came into orientation and divided the room, his exact words were this:
EVERYONE ON THIS SIDE OF THE ROOM GO TO BREAK, EVERYONE ON THAT SIDE,GO HOME AND THANK YOU FOR APPLYING,HAVE A NICE DAY

Lots of po'd folks guaranteed, it's the risk we take when we apply to these companies that feel they have the right to manipulate, harrass and discriminate at will.
Covenant is different, they hire you to get you into that seat and squeeze you untill
you are a hide ready to be tanned......
you would think that they would be considerate about peoples feelings, especially after trekking across the planet to get to orientation....but alas no, and they won't change........we don't want them to,we accept what is as what is,and they thrive on that....GUARANTEED...

For MCR6468:

You are most welcome; &, I want to thank you & all others that are
helping me to keep up with what is going on in the trucking world
since I left!!! It didn't look like it was headed in a good direction,
at that time; &, from what I've been reading, there haven't been
any good changes.
Happy New Year, all; Springloaded
