I am just curious. for those that wash out, even for the dumbest
reasons. What does TMC leave on your dac?

These days, even the slighest dac infraction will keep you from
getting a driving job. I know trucking compaines think they are
god, and think of DAC as the holy grail...

I can just imagine now when applying with another company...

Company: we noticed TMC on your dac..

ME: oh yea, i washed out because I missed a gear...

(a new driver, in a new truck missing a gear? Oh god
this is just underheard of..fire his #####...

I just have to say, I am appauled of a truck training school
sending anyone home for bogus stuff like "missing a gear"
I think there is much more to that story then the poster stated...

i worked at TMC for a year so i dont know every thing about them. but i will tell you this, there is a catch to both ways of getting paid with TMC. if you are on percentage you can make alot of money if the freight is paying good but that isn't always the case. one time i made 980 dollars of a load only going 400 or so miles. now the otherside to that is making 70 bucks for picking up a load of hay going 400 miles that needs to be tarped. you also only get paid for a bouce if its over 150 miles and even then it is not as much as a guy on milage make. milage guys git paid for all miles but miss out on the big pay off for high dollar loads.
as for them burning up your dac, i think it is based on your relationship with your fleet manager. i only gave a 3 day notice before i quit and they didn't put any thing bad on my dac. at the time my mother was taking care of my son while i was on the road. she was invovled in a car wreck and my son had no where to go. i knew i would not beable to take care of this issue in a matter of days so i quit and found a local job. when i told my fleet manager he was cool about. hell even his team leader called to talk to me to see how i was doing. they told me to come back when i was ready. moral to the story is its all about how and why you leave.

TMC is a great company to work for if your just starting out and want to get some experience driving flatbeds. their training is excellent and the equiptment is great but the attitude from the dispatcher that I had made me quit after 6 months, along with the fact that the job that I was training for also opened up at the same time. I had just finished a 4 year enlistment in the Marine Corps so I was ok with the strict rules and policys. when I quit i gave them a weeks notice and they routed me accordingly to end up at the indy yard only to find out the next week that my last weeks check was $0.00! thanks for the job but I will never flatbed otr again.

Thank you for serving our country 8xl

It is illegal for a company to withhold your wages, unless you owed them for training or maybe they are trying to get you for damages to your truck.

Did you get someone to sign off on your truck in Indy?

It's sad to see what was once a good company going downhill like this.

Good luck at the new job!

They kept all of the toll re-imbursements that they owed me on my last check, to the tune of $180.

they said that during orientation that I had signed a contract for 1yr, and that they could deduct wages if your contract was not met. I didn't remember about the last part so in hindsight I should have just quit without notification, but they probably would've screwed me in some other way.

A one year employment contract!?! You've gotta be kidding! Got that in black and white? Not apologising for TMC, just incredulous.

I've heard of companies doing that before, but its usually the driver mills. Last I knew TMC required you to have a CDL before applying, so what could possibly be the reason for a 1year contract?
