TMC Orientation - WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

I think the guys who run TMC's orientation program should be ashamed. Never once before my husband started his orientation did the company or the school he went through tell him what kind of hoops he would have to jump through in order to even make it through TMC's two week orientation. Orientation starts out with almost 100 guys and they whiddle down over those two weeks to almost no one. I can understand eleminating the bad eggs at first but they send guys home with only 1 day left to go! If we had known how they were we would never have took that serious of a risk, my husband would have just went somewhere else to begin with. He hasn't got cut yet, only 1 day to go but I still feel sorry for the people who have been cut especially with so little time left and I just want people who are considering TMC to know that this is something they will have to face while at orientation - constant stress and worry if you are going to the next guy sent home.

TMC is strict about who they employ. People should do a lot of research befor going to a company its not only tmc its almost every otr company. Good luck to youre husband.

Welcome to the world of trucking!! In these times companies can get the cream of the crop by cutting the rest.Hopefully people will remember this if/when things pick up.

Nah, not all OTR companies are like TMC. TMC has taken it to a new level. One of the guys in my class went there and got the axe. They require you to be in the 90 percentile in your first 3 days or you get a ticket home. This includes a test very similar to the general knowledge you take when getting your permit on the very first day there.

It makes them a bad company because they should inform their recruits what a rigorous process orientation is and just what percent will make it through. I dont know if I am more angry at TMC or the school my husband went to. They should have been the ones who told my husband what kind of expectations TMC has.

So, their nickname Trucker Marine Corps (TMC) didn't clue them in?
