Burky,
Let me chime back in since I started this. I think? As I said before I can appreciate your point on why someone wouldn't want to post his or her company name here. If that is the case then I think it’s inappropriate to say how great your company is when responding to a post by someone complaining about how crappy theirs is. Please don’t think I am saying you have ever done that but I have seen others do it. I know they meant no harm and I was merely trying to point out the fact that I have seen several posts where a driver would say how great a company is and not give the name. I think maybe it sound like taunting or teasing to me. Or maybe it is that cup of water just out of reach for a dying man in the desert. I know you know that some of these folk are in crappy situations and are looking for a light at the end of the tunnel.

I don’t know if it is possible but it would be interesting if this site had a method to list company names and then let the drivers vote Good, Ok, Bad. Limit it to registered users and let the users add new names of companies. That would give the folks that come on looking for information about JB and Swift a place to start. Would be really evident when they see Swift with 2 Good, 1 Ok, 235 Bad.

Just my .02 worth.

And I agree you do give good info and are the first usually to answer a newby’s post. Gracias

Right now, they need local drivers in Kankakee, Illinois for the Chicago area. They need peddle drivers to work out of Hudson, Wisconsin, which involves store to store delivery encompassing several states in a wide circle surrounding Minneapolis. Both of those are hourly paid, as far as I know.

Trudy (just ask for her by name) would know exactly what they are looking for at the moment. I know they do some business out your way, but you'd be looking for local wouldn't you? I'm not sure if they have something like that going on quite that far north at the moment, but then I've not had time the past two weeks to pin down exactly what they are specifically seeking.

Burky, you are free at any time to post an a recruitment post in the "Trucking Jobs" section in regard to your company when they are hiring. You know that no flames will be allowed.

Kevin has laid out a policy on this issue. Active members (i.e. drivers), that post in the forums on other topics, are encouraged at any time to offer posts on their company when they are in need of a good driver. You see, we want to hear the good along with the bad. Drivers trust other drivers to give them an honest assessment of their company.

Company Recruiters will have to submit their posts in the new "Supporter's Aisle" section, and a monthly fee will be charged for as long as they want the ad to appear in the that section.

We also would like to encourage all members to post full assessments of companies that they have worked for presently or in the past, in the Trucking Company Reports section of the site. This will help others when they are interested in a company and want a driver's point of view on it.

If a company you would like to report on is not listed, please contact Kevin to have him add the company to the list, and then offer your report when you see it on there.

Actually, I am going to list my company in the good guys section. Got all primed for it this weekend, and then couldn't access the site. Won't happen this AM though.... Next few days.

According to WiseOne's comments in the Moderators section, site was down 13th, and since I volunteered for a load yesterday, I wasn't around much to do any typing.

Re: Covenant Transport

yeah folks- I went to work for covenant, what a wild ride it was (and not just because my team driver didn't drive well). I stayed there for just a little past one year, and I can safely say that Covenant is one messed up company. Some of the finer points: My co driver and I had put in for hometime for 7/4/05: Being in Cali at the end of June (and me living in SE MI, co-driver near Rochester NY) we needed to be heading east- so where do they send us?- Atlanta GA. Then from there, we go to Kent, WA, finally to Salinas CA to Plymouth IN. What a fun time - especially sitting in Cartersville GA on the 4th. Oh yeah- then there was the week that we (team) ran 1500 miles. Or the week I made $150 for my paycheck. It wasn't all bad, if you didn't mind running totally illegal, you could make some money (on a regional board)- of course, you would only get 24 hours off some weeks. Or, you would bust ##### to get home (1000 miles in one day) and because between when you got home and when you left, you sat for 34 hours, you were expected to run like you got a reset. Now, it was my decision to run illegally, so that fault does lie with me. But still, you can imagine when you expect to be home and you're in St Louis MO on friday afternoon, you know you're in for a messed up weekend. So, if you're considering Covenant, be prepared!

Re: Covenant Transport

Oh My Gosh!!!I cannot believe this company! A friend of mine told me that this company would be a good choice over Swift. After reading what everyone has to say about them there's no way I would consider! I can't believe they held someone's last paycheck for a insurance deductible. Did the family do anything about this or could they do anything about it? I'm very thankful for the knowledge on the webesite and I will never work for those pricks.
