I hope this doesn't blow up in my face. But I worked for Covenant as a Student driver, Team member, Solo and A Owner Operator. I first went to Covenant as a Student rooky, I had just got my CDL from a School that told me now get with a company that has a Good Training Program. 10 years ago there were very few female trainers the first trainer I had was a slop. Let me go up and down Donner's Pass my second week in the truck and went to bed I bogged down and was scarred I was burning the engine up the rpms were some where above 2100 the next 2 trainers were good Ron B was Great and taught me alot except to back. I guess what I am saying is that I at that time stayed with trainers some six months. Which gave me a good feel for the road not all I hear about is how quick they push them out I am glad I have a small enough company that keeps us legal still pays for motel rooms and gets us out of the truck. I am sorry about the change the Guy going to KLLM need to check them out they have their own spooky stories like the time I met a girl from CA who had never driven in snow and had to deliver in ID going down ST HWY 12 which is bad in the summer let alone the dead of winter. I took her down and gave her the Handle Lucky. She was the same age as my own daughter. There are alot of bad companies out there be sure to check them out throughly God Bless

your experiences from several years ago was something else. how times have changed now, 'ey? i think that some companies are "pushing" drivers through training is because of the rapid turn-around they face each and every day.

and yes, even today i personally do see a Werner trainer that looks like he could use a shower, shave, back shave, clean clothes, haircut, etc. what really surprises me is that there is a Werner terminal in the Allentown, Pa area and i know he has to go there for his students. it seems that each time he goes there and comes back, he's as unkempt as ever before.........

so much for "first impressions" to a customer, huh.......??

Just wanted to add that Max Fuller and who ever Covenant Chariman or President is are related! they both have the same mother... just putting that out there

A better way to word that, would be to say that they are step-brothers. Clyde Fuller married David Parker's mother.

Both Max Fuller and David Parker, along with Patrick Quinn, ran Southwest Motor Freight when Clyde Fuller retired. Quinn was an attorney prior to coming on board with Southwest Motor Freight full time in 1977. When Southwest Motor Freight was sold in 1984, Max and David each retained a 10% share in Southwest Motor Freight, and helped operate it.

In June of 1985, they all three walked off the Southwest Motor Freight premises in Chattanooga, and over the next few months, David Parker started Covenant Transport, and Pat Quinn and Max Fuller started up US Xpress, with some financial assistance of Clyde Fuller, mainly in the form of 25 trucks apiece. So David Parker started Covenant with 25 trucks, and US Xpress was started with 48 trucks. (No one has ever explained what happened to the other two. They were probably lost in a poker game.)

In the mid nineties, US Xpress bought back Southwest Motor Freight, and also bought a few other companies as well, one of them being Hall Systems in Birmingham, Alabama, a company that I was leased to at the time. My association after they bought Hall Systems lasted three months. Then I went out and did a few things of my own.

Patrick Quinn is also the current Chairman of the American Trucking Association....

Well...I had to refresh my memory a bit on the three, but since i am local, they are all well known in these parts...and that's all I am gonna say about that...

I represent over 20 people who were in a tour bus on the way to Las Vegas, rear-ended in the slow lane by a fully-loaded Covenant truck in broad daylight on a major freeway. The bus was a total loss and the truck had over $50,000 in damage.

The driver "lost" her logbooks, and Covenant destroyed their copies. Covenant also destroyed all data from the engine's 'electronic control module', and all Qualcomm data.

The court has allowed us to investigate extra damages against Covenant because a witness said the lady driver was "reckless".

One of the accident victims can no longer walk without a cane, and Covenant is being completely unreasonable in settling their cases! Most of them are 'senior citizens' and several went to the hospital.

We believe the driver may have been exhausted from driving too much. Would you please let me know if we can take your statement about the "logbook" games?

I believe that with this information, Covenant will finally settle up our clients' claims (the total number of injured people was actually more than 30)!

You also may be entitled to witness fees.
