They don't care that you been driving 1,000 miles without sllep or shower, all they care about is them making $$$$.Is is sad all these trucking companies are so heartless.Thank God my Dad was a Teamester, sometimes they aren't always great but least you got union to stand up for ya"ll.I know a lot of you are against Unions, for their not strong in South, but they do help.

To begin with Prime has had this reputation for quite a few years, they will run a driver hard then starve them out. I have talked with a couple of drivers that drove for them and it looks to me like it is a combination of managment and poor custermer relations with the accounts.
You need to keep in mind that trucking companies make there money with team loads and some companies will not pay a decent team wage.

Prime is on the bottom of my list for a company to drive for and will get out of trucking and work for a fast food place before driving for them.

"New Prime", as they refer to themselves these days, should be at the bottom of every driver's potential employment list. They have always been a bottom of the barrel company, and they apparently will forever remain so.

Their business plan is simple, and you remember this:

"Keep 'em hungry, and let them make just enough to make "em stay, and not a cent more!!"

I went to their website and looked at the B.S. they have to offer. I dislike the be your own boss B.S. they tout. I also dislike the fact they state on a seven day week, our drivers average 3200 miles per week. That might mean you wont get home often, but remember, "be your own boss". They have two TV commercials you can watch on thier website. I swear it looks as if the husband-wife ary dry humping in the team commercial.

Prime, Inc. - Springfield, Mo.

To all Prime Inc Sub-Contractor lease operators,

Please read my post about injured drivers, as all of you are insured by Zurich International. I know of many past drivers that were injured and denied all benefits. One particular gentleman in the last month, lost a big toe due to a national steel company dropping a pallet on his foot. He was encouraged by Prime to accept the settlement by the steel company and not request benefits from Zurich. I could also give you countless other persons that were denied benefits.

CDL Instructors and Trainers are at particular RISK, since Prime falls back on the lease operator to pay for injuries, if the insurance company does not pay!!! Your liability insurance company is Liberty Mutual, and they deny all claims of disability, since this insurance is handled by Zurich. Zurich denies every claim, and thus you will be liable for anything that your student/trainee does!!!

I made the post to all operators, since it is highly likely that companies like England, JB, Schneider etc are all using the same 'bid-rigging' insurance company.

Looking to hear from anyone that would like to share their story.

been there, done that...

Leased with Prime, and while we didn't lose our ####, we didn't make what we should have made, running the miles that we did.

We no longer lease with Prime, due to medical issues. My husband and I ran 'team', which translates into many many miles in a year. Prime doesn't like to see their teams take any kind of rest periods.

Since we were on a medical leave, we were able to visit with 'in-house' personnel for a period of months. Drivers need to know that even members of the 'Safety' personnel are frustrated with New Prime Inc.'s policy of keeping their drivers starving and 'in the hole'. It is just a shame that some policy makers at Prime believe that they can treat people the way they do and get away with it.

I do know that New Prime Inc has changed it's hiring standards as so many other companies have in recent years, and they are only trying to put 'bodies' behind the wheel, regardless of aptitude or experience.

If we don't watch it, the major trucking companies will only have illiterate and idiot drivers hauling 80,000lb bombs down the road.
