about the prepass ur right, but they just start this month giving them out again, and about the money in the dry van ur wrong,if u make at least 4 figure and go home every night like me then all the respect for u but if not, then u should just let it go.im not here to brag about how much money i make, but i know i general how much money truck drivers make, some dry van make more, but im not sure a lot of them do make 4 figures and go home every night.so anyway lets talk about something else...........

I don't know any TMC drivers that go home every night, unless you are a dedicated driver, in which case please stop describing your oranges in our apples thread.

Ok i just read allllllll 1300++ posts on this thread, because i have always heard TMC was tops when it comes to the big trucking companies,my school director even said he had an inside track to get me placed if i resorted to going OTR,so I gotta say,im stunned at what it took me 2 days to read!
This was the only post I enjoyed and it made me chuckle,so i say thanks to him/her for the laugh, and thanks to alllllll the others who posted and saved me from taking my last resort.

When I drove OTR I was putting most of my pay into saving because I had very little expenses. Even after buying a house my expenses were less living on the road versus being home. You have many tax deductions being a OTR driver that you don't get as a local. And you can't turn your heat down to 50 in the winter and leave the lights off to save money like I did when I drove OTR.

There are trade offs in both endeavors, but having done flat, dry, and refer as well as running 2 trucks, you would be hard pressed to find a local gig that paid what you can make driving OTR doing the same thing.

You can use software to track expenses in both operations and will see it is easier to have more available income driving OTR, then local.

It is not how much you make gross, but what the net is after all expenses. I have friends that make twice what I make in white collar jobs and are always broke. I have never been broke or had trouble paying my bills since I have been in trucking.

    Baack Thanks this.
