Yes, now a company's safty rating dertermines if you get pulled around back or not. I worked temporarily for Transliner Carriers out of La Puente Ca. (read about them here) who had a poor safety rating because they had junk equipment and hired inept drivers. I was the only safe, experienced driver there. Anyhow, I was pulled around back in NM, then Az, then Calif on my way back in. Then was pulled around back all the time in many other states. I finally asked why in New Mexico, and they told me as soon as they key-in the DOT number, it shows howsafe the company equimpent is (as being road-worthy) and if its a bad rating-I get the red light and get to meet the DOT man/lady. Also, NM and Az will stand out there and scan the bar code on a truck and it tells them where and when you last entered a weigh station as they are sharing the same info. This will also tell them if the truck is insured etc.

I applied to TMC fresh out of a national accredited school, have a perfect driving record, and am a retired veteran. The recruiter was ready to send me a ticket to Illinois, then he saw my retirement paperwork....am a disabled vet....they never called me back, and when I finally got the recruiter back on the phone, he said I was denied for unknown reasons....what a bunch of malarkey. Thank you TMC, cuz now I drive a chemical tanker making more money than you would pay a driver of 10 years...oh, and am home almost every night too.

That's weird. I am a disabled vet also and they knew that. Never heard a thing about it.

Traveling down the road having a good time listening to good tunes...what's that up ahead...oh no another one of those 62 mph black Pete's in the middle lane holding up traffic. Hey two men cuddling slower traffic keep right!!!! Lol

Well I decided about a little over 4 weeks ago to give them a try. I can say it has been a good choice, I have made more in 4 weeks here than I did with the last 2 F.B. companies I drove for. Milskired, your right I have made it pretty good by coming here. Most don't like the structure or discipline....I thinks that is why some do not stick around....it doesn't bother me though...as far as being a 62 mph truck...don't care.... I stay in the right lane and run 59....and getting 7.4 mpg in a 379
milskired Thanks this. -
L-Train: you mentioned structure and discipline. I've seen that a few other times while reading TMC reviews recently. What's the deal with all the complainers about the military structure? Are they just non-hackers? Failure to follow simple instructions was too much...
I won't be looking to push my militaristic way on anybody. But that type of structure might make it an easier transition out of the military. -
I do have to say I appreciate you staying to the right. It should still be a felony to cut a 379 down to 62...cotta be a capital from to castarte at 379 long hood period.
Didn't TMC go to the new 579s? Remember talking to a driver in Norfolk that said they were upgrading their fleet to the new 579s
