I feel for you. I'm stuck here in Des Moines for a Monday delivery in Hull, IA. That's way up at the SD/MN border. I hope I don't get stuck in the snow again. I don't know what we haul out of that area other than hay. Chances are that I'll be stuck until Wed.

Thumbs down TMC lease purchase

If you think they are bad, get involed in a lease purchase with them. Short version: 2004 mack 319,000 miles. $12,000.00 in repairs in 3 months, no paycheck for 12 weeks, last straw would not pass DOT with a moter exaust leak $ 3500.00 to fix that. We said no, they repoed it.We then had to cough up 2 grand to extract the trailer title tmc ws holding as collateral. Should have rebuilt motor in truck in yard instead. Live and learn

Are you talking about the same TMC???..TMC Trans out of Des Moines, IA?
There are other TMC's out there...we run Petes mostly and some Kenworths they are selling off...Never heard of us ever having Mack's..
One thing about TMC out of Des Moines is their maintenence is unsurpassed..

hmmm..found this on one of your posts:

"Tennessee Steel haulers d.b.a alabama carriers
BAD, BAD, BAD : my husband went to work for Alabama Carriers after getting out of TMC as a O/O. After 4 months of company driver we decided to get another truck. Per their policy their former cop, could not handle it, turned driver, could not handle it, promoted to shop foreman had to inspect the truck first. He found 3 lights and a rear sway bar that needed replacing, nothing major. This was fixed, reinspected with a full D.O.T. inspection and cleared. the purchase papers were signed on OCT. 5 2007, on OCT 14 at 70 mph he drag link/ pittman arm came off, worn out over the embankment, thank god for seat belts truck totaled. This was Sunday, Monday morning we went over to Alabama Carriers, the guy that inspected it says I checked it if I an not move it with my hands it is okay. After talking to several mechanics this of course is incorrect. The terminal manager, Steve Morrison, backs this guy on everything. 3 weeks later the safety manager calls my husband to inform him his lease was being terminated because " You let your truck get in such bad shape". My husband started to talk and this guy says " I do not care whose fault it is , it is going to be yours no matter what. " Since this happened I have found safestat, Alabama carriers is awful, and so is their parent company. I have spent the last 2 months collecting data on Alabama Carriers, I will be dealing with them accordingly, companies like this should not be on the roads."

So who sold you a bad "mack"?

TMC or this other company... as I read other post, you left TMC as a O/O then decided to buy another truck from another company... so please explain....

I doubt most shippers will be open on Monday and if they are they might close early. I have to make sure I am unloaded as early as possible to give me the best chance on gettin a load back to Texas.

Typical BS about TMC. Don't they realize we will check out their stories?

Nucor... i hate that place...they have such stupid 'safety' procedures that make no sense whatsoever, last time i was there, we were expected to put those flimsy ### ropes up on our trailer to prevent us from falling, or rather choke us to death on the way down, hahaha.

Sorry to hear that your stuck in DSM, Terry, hopefully they can get you something. I never left last week, i have the flu...currently my truck is at the macsteel yard in Monroe, MI empty. FM says they will be able to find me something on Monday, but i'll believe it whenb i see it. Nothing was open last year, but you never know.

I'm not worried about being home for new years anyway, i'd rather make back some of the money that we spent on christmas.

To that guy talking about TMC, he is apparently unaware of the strict reviews that O/O's are subject to before they will lease them, Annett would never lease someone with a peice of crap Mack.

also, what trailer title? without your own trailer, you just pull theirs for a fee each week, they don't sell then to O/O's.
