Outside of the unique english, I find your post much of the same when it comes to complaints. You believe your side is the only correct side.

After reading so many complainers here I have to admit, if I worked dispatch I'd try to screw your day as hard as you try to screw theirs. I'm sure it's loads of fun for one person to listen to the non stop complaining of how many job jumping complainers?

At age 53 I've come to understand one thing. Those that boldly announce on hallowed ground with hand on heart "OH! But I was such a saintly good worker who loved my job." Is probably hiding more than the evil big company.

What I DO know is this; is dispatchers who have to listen to daily complainers will do whatever they can to remove the pain in the butt.

The drivers who respond and act with respect and do the job, usually become recognized as the driver that can and will get the job done period.

Jesus, I don't even work with you guys and I already am thanking my lucky stars I don't have to be at the end of your complaining phone calls.

How do people function when they bi#ch so dang much? Don't you get headaches or something?

And for the rest of you who say "Yeah life can suck but it's not all bad", thanks for bright spots in this thread!

And just to piss the bi#chers off right now lol I'm applying to Knight Transport.

I promise to smile and be happy when I see your sour puss face.

Jesus ban me from this thread or start a new "No Bi#tching thread"

K I'm done continue your "I'm so perfect and everyone els is wrong and evil" rants now.

Hey Baltimore! hope all is well. Do I know about a trucker's life? Nope not at all. But I know about life. On one side of the street people complain, on the other they make due. I'm just waving at the complaining side from over here that's all, as you are to me.

We will never understand each other completely. One of us never complains and some how makes due the other complains and wonders why others are doing better.

I suspect if you make it driving OTR 1 year you will have a better understanding. And I also understand that at age 53 you might just have to "make do". But if you choose to read between the lines you can get some knowledge of what you are in for.

I just hope you come back some day after you have tried your theory out for a year.

Now my way is tried and true after many years driving OTR. Learn your job and do it well and safely, but never offer to hold the belt loop and wash the sock of any dispatcher or other desk jockey in a OTR company.

They will never respect you no matter how respectful you are. You are a tool to get a job done, nothing more. You give a inch they will take a mile. Make them fear seeing your cellphone number come up on their screen. . My last OTR company said I was a A-hole and I asked them, so why then was I always at or near the top of the list and got home when I wanted? Because I picked up freight and delivered it safely and on time. That is what managers care about.

You are competing with other drivers for a check each week. Let the drivers who want hugs and kisses and mutual respect be the yes men and hold the belt loop and wash the socks of their dispatcher. There is always someone above the dispatcher who does not want to hear from you more then the dispatcher. They will make the dispatcher keep your number off their screen and keep you rolling.

Drivers are the ones who pick up and deliver the freight. If you are good at doing that and don't cost them more money then it is worth in doing it. You will keep rolling and outlast any desk jockey that complains about how you don't wash their socks like the nice drivers do.

Just be sure to come back and let us know how it went.

Wait a year though ... maybe then you'll have something worth reading...:biggrin_255:

i doubt he'd be back in a year. if he does, i bet it'll go something like this, "OMG THIS COMPANY SUX! I LEASED ONE OF THEIR JUNKY KW'S. ALWAYS IN THE SHOP! I EVEN GOT ON MY KNEES FOR A DISPATCHER AND RECEIVED NOTHING BUT A MOUTHFUL!"

What I do find odd is when I speak with drivers, old and young in person, I get the opposite of what most of you say here in the forums!

Indeed the constant comment when I mention what I read here is that attitude is part of it but mostly it's a constant denial of what you guys probably don't do, should do, and can't change or learn.

Now seeing as I can ask questions in a one on one conversation I have to believe many who enter the trucking life don't know how hard the work is. But every guy I speak to like's there job driving!

So, what to do? Come back here and knock heads? Nope, I'm not into that. So you guys stay here and take pleasure in your misery and how I know nothing and I'll continue to talk to the guys in person and continue to get excited. These guys are helpful and up beat. You guys are just crusty.

So bye and have fun in your black hole lol.
