y'know, i was all upbeat and smiley at first, too. after about 2 years, things began to wake me up from the pipedream i was living in. when you get hired, just think about how much more experienced a driver was before you who was let go, and now you're in their truck making a WHOPPING $.31cpm. oh wait, you're still a student. you'll be making something like an astouding $.26cpm. there's also a high probability you won't make it through your first 6 months, or a year. also have fun with their forced per diem bullcrap. try getting off it and you'll end up arguing with the payroll dweeb about why you no longer want to be on it. if it truly benefited the driver, why do they push is so #### hard?
sure, they'll run the hell outta you since you're new and all. however, that's only because you're new. when you start making a cent or two more, your miles will gradually decline. you newbies are nothing but a source of cheap labor. think of yourself as today's "coolie worker." hell, most of the OTR outfits are nothing but coolie carriers, anyway. they all operate pretty much the same. no coolie company is different from the other, with exception to the name and logo on their equipment.
have fun with that pipedream. when you wake up, try not to kill yourself once you do realize that you've been used and abused, f'ed and chucked.
Do not work for knight transportation!!!

Knight was a decent company when I left. Yes they had their problems as every company does. very low trailer to tractor ration and the fact that Drivers are the only ones in the company that realize the trucks are governed at 67(at the time I left). I had a decent 2.5 years there. It was easy and I made ok money without a lot of drama. But I needed more so We parted on good terms.
Sorry to hear that things are so crappy now. Driving OTR is hard enough, but throw in unnecessary drama and it gets miserable -
But some companies push, bully, and "imply" that you must accept it ... or they simply put you on it by default ... as many new drivers are ignorant of the concept completely.
Edit: Not necessarily Knight ... but other companies that I'm familiar with. -
If they would have increased the driving or decreased the Bravo Sierra, I might not have had an A-hole attack and gotten my dumb butt fired!
Oh well, I'm better off now!
Got my 1st check for the new job today. I worked less than 50 ACTUAL HOURS IN 2 WEEKS and still cleared $817 for the pay period!
PART-time, home every nite, easy work! And I get paid for EVERY MINUTE I AM WORKING OR DRIVING!

Per Diem is NOT required, like some other companies are. Miles? Your dispatcher will make a LOAD of difference! Some Dm's have the pull, and others just go with the flow. Whiners? Look elsewhere! Obviously I dont hang with that crowd in the "break room" complaining about who I drive for. DRIVE SAFE

Had you actually read Knight related topics before interjecting your inexperienced opinion you would have seen that Knight lies and steals and makes no attempt to hide it. Your not going to sit there and defend Knight Transportation without having firsthand experience. I won't allow it as I don't want people getting the wrong idea about Knight and ruining a day, week, month, or year of their life.
Get a year or so in with the mega junk hauler of your choice. Do lot's of work without compensation, be lied to, wait for freight while drivers are being pumped out of the CDL mills only to be told no trucks/freight available and then come back and talk to us.
