Thumbs up

My Webasto would heat up the bunk, the cab, any partially-eaten EggMcMuffins left on the parking lot, and probably the truck parked across from me at the T/S!

I've been with Schneider for almost a year and a half. Not heard a peep about my idling.
No Webasto heater, they said the truck was to old to put one in. Not sure if the batteries would hold out to long running both a Webasto and a CPAP anyway.
I have tried not idling when I sleep but no matter how many blankets you use, you cannot stay warm with freezing air being pumped into your lungs by a CPAP.
When it's cold, I idle. I do try and minimize it when it's hot, but I'm not going to risk driving fatigued because I couldn't sleep in a sweltering truck.

well in your case...you probably haven't heard anything because of the CPAP...they give you a higher idle time and probably if you go over...they aren't going to take the bonus away anyways.

I use CPAP. I get 40% idle allowance, but no more. I won't hit bonus this quarter because my current idle time is around 55%, and that's fine. I stay comfortable, but don't idle if I don't have to.

And given the fact SNI pays for all my CPAP supplies (in addition to the unit itself, no small expense), and how much better I feel, it's a small trade off.

And again, they've never said anything about my idle time when it is high.

That is so true. I turned mine on full blast one night and fell asleep. Big mistake.

So, what I derive from this is; Being a large individual with sleep apnea is beneficial to living like a human in a sleeper truck. I guess I'll get off of the treadmill, dive into the biscuits and gravy and I'll be all set.

Aladdin:

Sleep apnea is not limited to larger individuals. My father is 71, normal weight for his height, and has used CPAP for a decade.

While weight can be (and often is) a contributing factor, it is not the sole cause. Yes, I'm too heavy. But I suspect because of input from family members that I have suffered from SA since I was in my 20s (I'm almost 49 now) and before I put on the excess weight.

Your ignorance is amazing. Do you have biases toward everyone who isn't in perfect physical condition such as yourself, or are you just a monumental ### who comments about things he has little information about?

Jus' wondering. Now go and be well.

Oh...and exercise your mind while you're at it.

Aladdin Sane,
I said I used a CPAP. I did NOT say I was obese. At 6' 2" and 210 lbs I don't think I'm excessively overweight. Got a little paunch yes, got to expect fighting that when you hit the mid century mark, but I don't consider myself morbidly obese.

Aw heck, I've got 1 inch and 30 pounds on ya, and I don't consider myself obese. I've been told by numerous quacks that I'm at my optimal weight for my height and body type. But I'd probably fail the new BMI tests cause I got more flab than muscle from sitting around on my butt instead of working. And yes, driving is working, for all you newbies who thought different.

The Webasto only has 2 settings, too hot, or too cold.
