Hey, he only made $600 a week OTR. -That's only about $100 more than a JB driver. I would be complaining.

Wireman1234, I may be in the office now but my roots are in trucking, having come from a family of truck drivers. I have heard and observed a lot over the years. I now have two girls who have been driving OTR for over three years. They have met a lot of really nice drivers out there and they have also met their share of jerks. They have experienced the problems that I hear a lot of drivers talking about...loads with unrealistic delivery times, dispatchers who don't have a clue how to run a team, reimbursements that take forever to make it into the paycheck if at all, fleet managers who think it is acceptable to try and cut into their home time...and the list goes on. Being in the business I'm in, I do deal with trucking companies everyday and it seems that more and more of them are letting greed dictate poor business practices which in turn has a very negative impact on their drivers.

Panhandlepat, I do agree with you. If a driver has a complaint about a company they should be willing to state the facts, but I also understand that if a driver has a legal action pending they would be foolish to speak out in a public forum before their case is heard in court. From this drivers words it seems that may be the case.

Read the first 2 posts again! Yes U can be sued for telling the truth, especily without documentation. There are alot of companys that make aliving off driver turnover, example 200 drivers - $100 a wk x 52 wks + the last weeks chk taken for spurrious charges + 300% a yr turnover rate, oh yes and tax credits for training them for this type work. Makes U wonder why some even load a trailer.

I think there is a similar thread already. Why haul freight when all these companies have to do is hire drivers for a month then keep their paychecks. I am sure there are some companies that are unscrupulous, but I doubt that many have a business model in place to turn a profit by hiring then firing drivers. But with every accusation, there is typically a rebuttal.

Dude
Come on, be just a bit honest.
Man up, give the facts, not some wild accusations.
If your afraid of retribution, hid you identity, but to just throw BS like this out, well thats just BS.
Typically when one starts a thread like this, most will read that it is simply a disgruntled employee that got canned, and won't own up to their actions. Basically its never their fault.
