To Allenp613,Is that your JCT T600 KW ?? What a prize to pay 90,000 for...and your math dosen't quite work,if you were smart, but since you have only been out here for 6yrs,your still learning...grab a truck trader open it up and with around 3,000 dn you can grab a truck with around 1200 a mo,pmt(with no fine print, hint hint ) i have a couple friends with sorry credit and now own there trucks from this place...anyway save 1,000 mo off the top pull up your pants and lease to a company that will let you call the shots,in otherwords not being a company driver making truck pmts with a carrot dangled infront of your face...JCT was a quick fix for me to employ a driver that helped me out ..and it beat a large dn pmt at the time,i bought 2,2002 W-900 studio's with c-15's since then, cheep to keep now with the lower price of parts, low overhead and i still have my 2001 Classic. 2 are pd for i guess what im try to say is your paying way to much on a weekley basis not to have more of a say in"YOUR BUSINESS"

Guess what mine was brand new and if I went to a dealer to buy a new truck it'd be the same. I don't trust used trucks due to my previous experiences

C'mon now, you know most of what you just said about most companys lease purchase aint true.

I lease with England and theres "some" changes i can make to the truck. Notice how I said "to the truck"?? I know its not my truck, and I highly doubt anyone else who leases a truck considers it theirs until they pay for it.

I can take time off whenever i want. They dont dictate that. They may try to make you feel guilty and say that excessive hometime is bad for your business but they cant tell me when I can and when i cant take time off.

I can turn down loads as long as I have good reason. Like for example, not enough time, i dont have enough hours... Things like that.

I can also fuel wherever I want as well. Now, if i want to stay on the fuel cap and only pay a buck 25 a gallon for fuel, I have to comply by at least 75% by fueling where the tell me and maintain a PMPG of 5.8 but as far as them telling me where to fuel, I dont have to abide..

You got me on the q-com refusal and the maintenence accnt refusal but seriously, is this really a problem?? Need I go into it further and point out why you need those two things?

If you play your cards right, L/P does also benefit you the driver as well.

It maybe benefiting the company from the truck payment but if they don't keep you running the way you want it wont benefit at all. Also I second what England driver said. At jct I get to take time off when I want too. Like he said they think u r dumb and can't run your business. Those that can't stand up for themselves r often the ones that complain about the company afterwards. As far as advantage of a lease, u can walk away if it don't work out. If you have a truck and its not working out you r stuck with a truck and paymxents and possibly possible period of no job while you hope someone else hires you on.

Alanp613..."Guess What"I guess your name is John Mallory..6yrs trucking..5yrs with JCT,previous problems w/used truck;you said earlier in another statement you paid one jct truck off and your on you second one,i guess there is some B/S in your statements, and maybe you don't quite absorb what you read,i guess you wear the free ball cap every where you go,with your cards trying to get that $1200,and just try to take 5 days off..the next week you be doubled up on you "fixed costs" unless you have enough in your maint.acct.to devert your pmt.If they didn't drain that on the B/S shop costs you have no control over.just like one day a driver came in and his windows were lightly tinted, they pealed it off and charged the driver the cost of labor,OH and by the way you might of drank the kool-aid at JCT,but some drivers come on this site to find out about truck companies,at JCT look at the letter after the truck #and that's how many times that truck has been sold (a-1...b-2 ...c-3..j-10 etc.) you just might be going home on a bus,I can prove my statements

Actually, this isn't true. Many companies care about the driver. It is up to the driver to look ahead and actually PLAN for things such as bad weather and hours and let the company know about it.
My company will never retaliate against a driver for being late for something that is out of the drivers control. That being said, they expect the driver to have a brain and USE it, to be able to anticipate problems down the road.
Look at the radar and listen to the weather. Keep an eye on your hours and road conditions.
If one of our loads is going to be late for some reason, we call the dispatcher and let them know. They call the customer and tell them it's going to be late and why.
Since we haul 90% HAZMAT, our customers don't want their product being put into danger due to weather or tired drivers. Never heard of one of our drivers being fired or disciplined for something like this.

Your post helped me in knowing about the Super-10 road test. Never drove one and am not about to pay someone to show me how. Despite the fact, that I'm done driving sticks, due to recent disability.

Reading this tread was a part of my research for Companies with Lease Purchase. My intentions are to find a Company with Auto-Shift trucks, due to my inability in one leg. On their web site I noticed Automatic Freig. Columbia, but now the road test with Super-10 it's killing my plan.

Being as Bigkid2 decided to quote my 800+ figure on the fixed cost let me respond. That Fixed cost figure is by MY choosing. I am doubling up on my APU payment to have it paid off by Christmas. After thet my Fixed cost will drop to under 700 a week. And as far as making money... I netted 2500 last week, and yes I ran it legal. So do not say it cannot be done. Some of us are just better at micromanaging than others. And as long as you are POSITIVE in your maintenance fund you can have the truck worked on anywhere. I had the PM done and the Front brakes done where I wanted. If you are negative then JCT is giving you a 0% interest LOAN to fix your truck therefore they control where you get repaired and how it is done. So I say "If I can do it, so can you".
