Many drivers have been burned by company's who say "be safe" and "no load is worth your life" and " just do the best that you can" then later find out that while they where being safe and not risking their life for the load, the company computers where recording there loads as being late.

If you can't make it on time and the company uses macros to record your daily activities. You have to get the appointment time changed or swap out the load. A verbal from the dispatcher saying don't worry about it is not enough. The computer will still record it as a service failure unless someone in the office gets off their butt to prevent it.

You should also check with the company from time to time on your performance record if they do not do regular evals. Especially if you are one of these drivers who thinks they will deliver every load on time without any tactical loging.:biggrin_25525:

    "curious"
    More like naive.

Trust me, all the skill and cooperation in the world will not save you from the shabby treatment at most OTR company's. They will grind you up and spit you out unless you are willing to accept being laid on the ground and walked on. Which some are willing to do.

Heck if you let them walk all over you enough they may even give you a jacket and a patch to wear around to show everyone how proud you are to work twice the hours of the average worker for the same pay.

Not to mention the fact that if a current employee comes here complaining about their company, someone will ask them why they are such a bonehead and still work there. To which they would have to reply, Well if I am a former employee and come here and complain. A less learned individual will say I am just a disgruntled former employee who lacks "skill and cooperation".:biggrin_25525:

Here's a quote I'm sure every JCT driver remembers from Orientation.

"I don't ever want to here about hours or the weather, It's your responsibility to be on time."

And I'd be out the door so fast I'd take the paint off the front of the building! There's NOTHING in that trailer worth more than what sits in the drivers seat!

Exactly "we don't have late loads" If your truck breaks down, or out of hours you better be in contact with your dm or dispatch. They WILL try to find someone to come get your load.

Well I have to say this...at one time I was seriously concidering going to work for JCT all sounded good from the other JCT threads. However after being in contact with the recruiting dept and recieving all the paperwork lease agreements pay schedules and ect...I have come to my own personal decision...First NO LOAD is worth my life If I am tired and out of hours I am going to bed...Second they dont pay NEAR enough for any so called "HOT" load. PERIOD...so if they cant find someone to come change out trailers with me They had better be RESCHEDULING the delivery...

    Two things here.
Years ago I work for a fleet owner who had 10 trks.
    I asked why no reefers.
Answer iron won't spoil or go bad

One time I was at Canada customs and there was a Prime team there.
The paperwork wasn't right and they had to wait for the Ag. people to reinspect the papers and load.
They were talking about being late and docked for it.
I asked was it your fault.
No they replied, but they will still get docked for a late del.
I told them it was time to look for a new job, if they were getting nailed for something not their fault

It took me 6 weeks to decide I made a bad choice and return to my current employer.
