I was recently offer a job by Chizek Transport trucks. They liked my application and I agreed to start orientation on Oct 17, 2011.

It's four days before orientation and I'm having serious doubt about this company. Number one issue, I need a good dependable truck to drive. I don't need a truck that will always need repair. The cold fact is the driver doesn't make any money when a truck is in the garage. I saw a bunch of their trucks and they are old crappy trucks. I talked to a driver out in their yard and it's true...their trucks have tons of miles on them and they are looking old as well. I can't get the recruiter to give me a straight honest answer on this subject.
Same thing about the paychecks, pay is a solid three weeks before a driver can get paid. This sounds like an accounting issue where the driver is not getting good service when it comes to a pay check. Most companies I know pay out weekly.

I heard another report about their dispatchers not being that good to work with. I don't think I would get a straight answer if I ask their recruiter.

I'm getting bad feelings about this Chizek outfit. I will be canceling orientation today. No thanks with these characters/crooks!

    Lonesome Thanks this.

You will get the miles with Chizek but won't get the pay! If you get stuck you pay the tow bill! They also try to make you pay repairs and threaten you to sign. Old trucks with old batteries so the ac/heat only works 5 hours on your down time. 5 minute idle shut down then you cook or freeze. Force you to run over weight and over time, you can only move the axles so much and drive so many hours. Allways the drivers fault. Dispatchers call you all hours and cancell home time if you where lucky enough to get it after 4-6 weeks, then hang up on you. Big turn over on drivers. They hold money back from every paycheck say paperwork was late. Charge $25.00 for pay advance, even charge to deposit your check. When you quit they keep your last checks and give you a bad referance. See the USA at a govenered 60mph for 30 cents a loaded mile, not the 40 cents they promise! Give you a dirty truck and when it breaks down give you another dirty truck and charge you $100.00 for cleaning when you turn it in. If you try to talk to him about it he calls the police and has you escorted off the property. Beds in both trucks where pee stained and had black mold. Only buy 50 gallons of fuel at a time. No toll roads or you pay out of your pocket. Take pictures comunacation on the qualcom! Do your research! If you quit you better have transportation as he won't even give you a ride to town after you bring his truck back. Run do not apply!

Mike chizek is a liar and a sorry excuse for a human being, give them any problems and they post lies on your dac report. They mistreat the drivers and steal your money. Their trucks are junk and the shop mechanics don’t know how to fix a problem all they are is parts changers.I would not recommend this company to anyone

I am currently working for this company. I've been here for 8 months and they will only give the driver 1800 loaded miles out of 2100+ miles running. This week, ending in 12/29/18, will be my final day. I have nothing good to say about this company since the owner wants to use his physical size to itimidate folks, not me, I put his sorry @§$ in his place.

If I did get stupid, I made the mistake of coming here without doing my research on said company.

There isn't a male dispatcher working at chizek so get you're facts straight! I work there and I make more money at chizek then other companies I've worked for! Chizek is a old school type of company, tight loads without all the corporate ####! Truck on!

    Oh geez....

Ok, since you want to complain about “you’re” facts, here are a couple for you.

First of all, I made the post you replied to 13 years ago, so who’s to say there weren’t any male dispatchers then?

Second, in my experience on this site, whenever someone shows up out of the blue and proceeds to vehemently defend a company listed in our “Bad company” section, it has a funny way of making that person look very suspicious.

You wouldn’t happen to be management at this company, would you? o_O
