fikes truck lines

o/o beware of fikes truck lines.they will stick it too you every time they get the op. had an incedent with one of theyre customers didnt feel the load was safe. fikes told me they do it all the time, so i threw 14 straps over the load(48'x2' plastic pipes banded to pine boards n stacked 4 layers high) i shouldnt have taken the load but i couldnt stand to sit 2 more days. the wood snapped and the load shifted, stayed on trl ie 14 straps.. fikes wanted me to pay the full recovery fee.i called the insureance co to find out what they thought of this.fikes never reported it to the insurance co because they had claims from the same place for the same incedent in the past. had to threaten saftey department with legal action, then they agreed to the $1000 deductable.i left fikes 2 wks after swapping out a leased trl (lease expired on 1st trl) with in 2 wks they claimed i had done $1500 damage to that 2nd trl and kept the whole security deposit and all the linehaul i had coming to me.i dont like to talk bad bout people but i dont like to see someone tryin to suport a family get ripped w/no justice eighter

On a side note, a shifted load of plastic pipe is easy to fix yourself, you can do it with a couple of 2 inch straps.

Did you have the first 2-3 layers belly strapped? I hauled plastic pipe 4 teirs high several times and only had one issue which was my own fault, i fixed it by winching it back until it was straight with a few 2 inch straps and then restrapped the whole load.

Belly straps usually solve this issue.

Yeah, I have hauled plastic pipe like that before and had no problems.
Just belly strap and strap from left to right using both sides of the trailer winchs(cross straping lft rht lft rht etc...) that keeps the load from shifting because your pulling from both sides instead of just the left or right side.
This is the only time I see people with shifted loads of plastic pipe.

Yep, I agree with the other drivers.
My first ld. of plastic pipe was a learning ld.
The hard way.
Belly straps and cross strapping is your friend.
Good luck in the future.
