Not angry at all, everybody's got some bs excuse why it isn't their fault. You are supposed to be the professional you should know what the jack ##### in the car is going to do before he does, that is part of be a proffesional driver as opposed to some whining misplaced from his other job so I decided to drive a truck wanna be. Accidents happen it's part of the deal ,man up and move on

You might want to read things again. Your angry replies kind of do not fit...my post at least.
I was saying originally, that it is pretty much policy to rip some money from the driver if he ruins the gear, no?
How you reacted like you did, just makes no sense.

Actually, one other thing. I do not agree with you.
I have worked for a lawyer in the past and every Tom Dick and Harry who is in a crash with a truck sees dollar signs.
I used to go out, review the scene and the reports...then recreate things.
SO MANY times, it was clearly the 4 wheeled idiots fault, but because poor 19 year old blondie foo foo in her daddies BMW pulled out in front of "biker Jim" with his big 18 wheeler, they sue...and often, WIN!
I will never forget one meeting I was in.
"But YOUR client was ticketed by the police. She was at fault and your appeal failed."

(The attorneys who were suing for the poor brain damaged girl replied:
"We know this, but your client will spend more than 100,000 defending the suit and we think, because this girl needs the money, you will pay...or a jury might give her more."

The insurance PAID! I could not believe it.
Witnesses stated she ran the red light, pulled right in front of this poor O/O ####### and he dumped a 1.5 year old truck and trailer to try to save her...spending 6 months in rehab himself in the process...and his insurance co. dumped him once it was settled. He works for Home Depot now. Ins. is too much for him to pay.

I felt bad for the girl, we all did. It must be hell to go from pretty to drooling 2 year old on one smack of the head...but that is why they tell you to pay attention. She should not have been on the cell phone. This time, it bit and her and bit her good.
No one "deserves" that...but the truck driver could have plowed through that car like butter and mashed her, avoiding all of his own injuries. Instead, he glanced the blow and ate a tree, putting himself between it and a heavy load of canned goods (ruptered spleen, traction, broken neck, crushed vertebrae, collapsed lung, busted ribs... He remembered the whole thing. It was a decision he made thinking he was dead, but he said he could not live with himself if the girl died.
You think the parents thanked him? Ha! Nope.

The guy is a ###### hero and no one knows it except for about 20 people who worked the case.

I just do not think you can say, "You are making excuses." So many drivers out there have been shafted for no other reason than driving a truck with high insurance limits.

We all know that pro drivers are much more likely to be on the ball than idiots in a mini van. It certainly is not right to blame every accident on them, nor is right to say that "it is just part of the game, if you dont like it, get out."

Why not, "if you dont like it, work for change?"

There is one common theme and it burns my arse more than anything I read from drivers.
"We cannot do a #### thing about it."

    heh heh

Get 70% to get the blue flu for about four days and see how much we could change.
Problem is, too many drivers have been beaten down into believing that they are powerless.

I don't know if it's "policy" , I do know any unauthorized deductions are not legal, so unless you signed up for the" we're gonna rip you off" plan it not legal and if you let them get away with it it's your fault

I never said if you don't like it get out those are your words , Don't quote me if you can't do it correctly. Ask your safety dept how many guys or gals have an accident and come in and say I screwed up , I bet not 1.

Worked for them for 6 weeks great equiment but not enough miles. They want u to run but dont have the freight. Sat in Eagan to deliver a 400 mile ld for the weekend. Almost all drivers dont have insurance because you wont get 2 months of their 9280 mile quota to have it. Also u have to pay for Trip pack each week so u can get paid and the company gets their POD for free atb the driver expence. No driver dispatchers to work with just ld planners.Poor set up and they want u to use your cell phone like it is theirs. BeWARE iF U TAKE TIME OFF U MUST CLEAN OUT UR TRUCK. THEN SPEND DAYS WAITING FOR ANOTHER ONE.

On the bottom of this thread, there is a related thread entitled,''LESS WITH LESSORS." That was my experience with them too...Except that they tried to screw me out of $200.00 for ''out of route miles'' on my last trip. They said that I ran 200 miles out of route to get home.Good thing I covered my rear, and photographed the Qualcom giving me authorization to take my home time.

They did charge me $80.00 to remove the ''part time'' sticker on my drivers door. I never could figure out how I was a part time employee when I was gone for weeks at a time.

To the poster that said if you run ontime with Lessors, you'll get loads.I couldn't disagree more.Iv'e been out here 10 years,(have a local job now) and can count on one hand the times I was late, and of those times, most of them were weather related.I was NEVER late with any appointment during my 9 months at Lessors.NOT once, and I still couldn't get miles from them.

    Less with Lessors
    Lessors Inc,out of Eagan Minnesota..

They are a smaller company, with about 200 trucks, and 5 or 6 dispatchers. They have good equipment that is well maintained.
They run Cascadias, older Columbias with tri packs and EZ Pass. They pull newer 53 foot reefers.

They just don't have miles. The benefits suck too.I'll touch on that later..

I ran mostly from the yard in Mn to points east.A lot of times you go to Front Royal Va,where you will often sit for 2 days waiting for a re-load.

They also run the hell out of the east coast too.So if you like Philly and Queens, grocery warehouses, I-95,then you'll love these guys. It never bothered me much.Miles are miles.

They were good for a while but then went completely downhill after they bought a company in Florida.Since then, miles went way down,to 1,700 -1,300 mile weeks, sometimes not even that.

The benefits are a scam ,and what they are doing is probably illegal. They wont tell you until you get to orientation, but you have to run 10,000 miles a month to be eligible for benefits.Seems easy enough, but not if your sitting for days waiting on a load. So,after not reaching 10,000 miles for 3 months in a row,you will get a letter sent to your house, telling you that since you didn't make the quota, you lost all benefits, vacation pay,and are not eligible for a raise.Of the all the time I drove there, most months I didn't make the quota.

Don't look for a dime in detention pay either, because you won't get it,regardless how long you sit on a dock. They don't pay it..Layover pay will become a staple of your income, but first you have to sit a day before they ok you for 50.00 bucks ..

Hometime isn't bad if you can afford to take it.They give you about a day for 5 days out,and are usually pretty good at getting you home.

Dispatch is freindly and mostly laid back.Payroll is accurate.

They let you log however you want, and when they have miles, they never say anything about running as long as you want. They ask that you log a fuel stop the SAME DAY you fuel. That's about as strict as they are in safety/logs.

All in all,it wouldn't be a bad company if they could at least keep you moving. But when you take everything into consideration, low miles,no benefits,no detention, no possibility of a raise, the constant layovers, etc.It don't add up.You just get LESS AT LESSORS.

I can't recommend them, especially if you need health insurance for your family and hope to pay your bills with some regularity...Too dicey there..

I've been here now almost 3 years. A good friend has been here for 9, and the guy I was in orientation with, now one of my best friends, is still here. Alot of guys have been here several years. Not all loads are great here. I admit that. But only a few time being dispatched out of Florida have I been unhappy, and now they've changed the dispatch team down there so now the rednecks who ran it before aren't playing favorites with their good old boys. I understand some people want just the best and job hop every five seconds when they don't get it. Get over yourselves. Seriously. There are times I get angry here too. But if you calm down it generally works itself out. Lessors isn't for everybody. Neither is any other company. The benefits have alot to be desired. I'm not thrilled about that. But I average $1000 a week, sometimes more, sometimes less. I don't worry about my truck breaking down and if it does i know when I make a phone call it's taken care of. There's not 20 questions and going thru 15 people to get a tire replaced. There are guys out here that won't be happy anywhere. That's life. If you want to come here give it a shot first, don't up and quit. Any questions? I'm in truck 1207 or respond on here. I'm happy to answer any questions.
