Star transport

Yesterday was intended to be the first day star transport, with prehire letter in hand along with a faxed letterhead stating "excepted" packed up my belongings and i drove 167 miles oneway walked into star's morton location ready to get started, well after being given a great deal of redundent paperwork, going for a drug test, being asked to sign stating i would pay for the test all after the test was done, with no $ amount listed i started asking questions, i was informed that it would be a $36.00 fee for prehire drug screen.(i've never heard of a person paying for preemployment drug screen ) regardless of this situation i was called into the office on my first day, when i was informed that i was not able to be hired by star due to a driving issue 25 years ago..note that driving issue was listed on the original app. And i was more then happy to show them that along with the prehire letter and fax cover sheet, but all i was told is
"if i hire you my operations department will fire me, and we will both be looking for work"
now i understand that having two dui's is not good however i did disclose this on my original app. And talked to star mult. Times prior to committing. And did i happen to mention that it was over 25 years ago...with nothing more on my record except a driving with no seat belt back in 2007.
stay away from star transport
they dont stand behide anything the say let alone what they put in writing.
Not once after all of this did they offer to pay for my return home, not even lunch that i signed up for at 7am...by my best estamation's they owe me $100.00 for gas to and from but did they offer it..... Hmmm what do you think....?
