Am interested in speaking to a lawyer about this leasing program, my husband thought it was the way to go and now he is hostage to the road without being able to send money home for our life. We looked at this in the beginning as "deployment" (he is a vet) and expected to not see each other right off in the beginning. We did not expect to make money for the lease only and have absolutely no money for rent or our life. I don't need a lot in life but I don't think a home, food and good health are asking to much from our employers in America.
I have read message boards all over and for Trans Am word for word it's the same year after year. How do they get away with this rip off? A land lord can't take away your lively hood, how come an employer can do that? This economy is horrible right now and no one knows when it will get better, my husband was out of work for a year before he went to school and trained to drive.
Do people realize that if the truckers don't drive for a week it will shut down America? I say it's time for a strike boys & girls, and God forbid any immigrants drive over the roads. Do you realize there is a green card program for these immigrants so they can drive? How insane , see below.... :( sign me, missing my hubby but proud of him too.

Welcome to Green Cards For America
The “Green Card” is the Permanent residency “immigrant” visa for the USA.

Over 800 foreigners have been able to experience trucking in the USA on a temporary basis. Now, employers are able to offer permanent residency sponsorship.

We have the employers ready and willing to sponsor you.

    Eligibility

    Over 23 years of age
Minimum of 2 years articulated /semi trailer experience
    No criminal convictions
No more than 3 traffic violations in previous 3 years.
No drink driving offences in previous 10 years
Able to commit to your chosen employer for a minimum of 2 years.
Able to pass the Immigration medical and Department of Transport USA Medical ** some medical conditions may exclude you from holding a USA driver license.

    Who Are We

We are a recruitment company. We have over 15 years of varied transportation experience. We have been recruiting for the American trucking industry since 1999.

The shortage of drivers has become wider across other countries over the last few years and has created varied opportunities for truck drivers. Truck driving is no longer “just a job”, it’s a “career”.

Every trucking company we place drivers with - has approval from the Department of Labor and Immigration Service in America and are happy to have foreign drivers.

What's good about driving in the USA?
    Rider program for passenger
Usually high rise large 60-70 inch sleepers with double bed.
    Dry vans, reefers, or tankers
    Medical Insurance after 90 days
1 week paid vacation per year
In cab satellite communication for loads and pre-loads
    Weekly pay
    Owner operator opportunities
    Treated as professionals
    Driver appreciation week America wide
    Modern interstate road system

Fuel card with driver loyalty points
    Truck wash available in terminals
    Nationwide maintenance locations
Relocation assistance for you and your family
    Spouse can work anywhere
    What to do now?

Pick you the employer from our list. Send in the inquiry form and we will send you more information.

We look forward to working with you!

    NOTICE MARCH 2009

We are not able to accept any new applications from truck drivers until further notice.

The reason for this is American Employers must assist American people who need employment as a first priority.

For the last 10 years, the American trucking industry has had a huge shortage of drivers.

The Global Financial Crisis occurred and many American’s who lost their jobs turned to trucking.

We will begin accepting applications for employers again as soon as possible.

and to be fair, I blame ME for doing the stupid, but I find tremendous fault in that Transam will hang you out to dry, and then have the gall to tell you it's your fault you failed.Let me tell you, eight (8) straight weeks of negative income, running the miles provided, one 4 day stretch of home time, their routes, their fuel solutions, not refusing loads, no lates or missed, and I'm to blame??they have even cut me off from printing out my settlements(didnt have a laptop)but am to be satisfied i'll get a 'history' sent with my final.right.I blame ME for leasing, but I balme Transam for the rape

I currently lease with trans am, in the past 6 months i have averaged 289.00 a week. and now with the cost of fuel i am making even less. their fuel surcharge does not keep up with the rising cost. Hopefully i will be able to leave this horrible company soon.

$289.00 a week to driver OTR, and have the responsibilities of ownership basically? C'mon guys quit making the same mistakes everyone else has made, I live in Florida, renowned for our bad economy, I drive local, which some will tell you has no money in it, but I have made 14,500 in my first 4 months this year, and as long as no illnesses or any unforseen problems arise, I will hit about 45,000 this year and be home every night and have the weekends off. Simply put don't give up hope out there, get out of this nightmare you guys are in and keep your head up, there still are good jobs to be found, hell I'm successful in Florida right now and that's saying a lot.

Then get to your dept of labor. but first get your stuff online or they'll close the access and , get this.....they'lll charge ya 25.00 for your final and i ain't bird-turdin.
