No that was not Marxist, but I am a Marxist would you rather me say, The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win.
WORKING MEN OF ALL COUNTRIES, UNITE!
Now that is Marxist. See I needed a job back then and I was willing to do whatever it took to put food on the table. Even Marxists aren't afraid of a little hard work hell I am not afraid of a lot of hard work. I wouldn't criticize you for quoting Reagan even though well in my opinion he was an awful president. I like the comment by FDR but he was a little too conservative for me.
As far as working goes I work my butt off to provide for my family and if you choose not to listen to me because of one quote, well then that just shows your ignorance. I could have quoted something from my Che Guevara now that is a guy I really agree with. -
Oh yeah Patrick31475 that was me and that was my comment from FDR but I really didn't defend the company like Apopka did I just stated facts.

Apopka aka Patrick aka John H (Recruiter) roflmao! I know who you are too Apopka! You guys are hurting real bad... I wonder why? I heard 1/3 of your freight is gone. You are letting drivers go for the loss of freight. Sounds to me like you are going under! Serves you guys right!

Oh, and I find it funny that you think you know who I am when you are quite wrong!

just found this site couldnt believe there was stuff on here about a small company like honey,i worked for honey off and on between 89 and 95 they wasnt that bad of a company grantrd they have shortfalls like other companys u do work ur tail off doin that ltl but i never ran less than 2500 in a week including the drops and pickups it never took me a week and a half to get from jersey to ca.they did have some issues i didnt agree with but dont they all. and the equipment wasnt neer as nice as what they have now,and running local all week was the norm.met my wife thru honey trans butted heads with dan more than once but had a lot of respect for him too,as far as runnin the ilegal stuff they got rid of that guy while i was still there.but all in all my experience there was ok truckin was still truckin in those days

I have to disagree with tellnol437. I worked for Honey Transport/Bestway in 2008 and 2009, and I'm thinking about going back to work for them ( I left to pursue other career interests just in case you were gonna say why did i leave in the first place). Yes the company has issues, but show me a company in the United States that doesn't. Yes, the mileage pay may not be the highest in the industry, but you can make up for it in stop pay (because they are an LTL company), and unloading your own trailer ( if you don't mind doing a little work instead of sitting in the sleeper eating twinkies for 3 or 4 hours while the lumper unloads your trailer). I have driven for several trucking companies, and i can honestly say that out of all of them, Honey Transport has been the best one. They don't have qualcomm's in the truck so yes you have to do check calls twice a day (takes a whole 10 to 15 minutes out of your day), a small amount of time for the company to make sure that the freight they are hauling , and the driver that is hauling it are safe. You have the option to run two weeks or you can run four weeks, it's your choice. When I wanted to go home I went home, when I wanted to run I ran. They respected me as a driver, and not just someone to sit in the driver seat. It's a company, and all company's are there to make money, so yes they have policies and procedures that each driver has to follow (whether we like it or not ). We have to follow rule and regulations from DOT, so what is the difference. If a driver doesn't like to follow policies than I recommend them to become an O/O. I dont mean any disrespect to any fellow driver, we all haul the same freight, I just know first hand how this company operates, and I wanted to defend a great company. God Bless and Stay Safe out there!!!

my brother has been working for honey transport for over 10 years. he is the type of driver that stays out 10 months a year and runs like crazy. what company would say no to a driver like that? so of course he gets treated like gold and gets the long hauls.
I tried to work for HT in 2005. that guy john is a major prick I can affirm. Anyway, was told 2800 miles per week and of course LTL will not get you 2800 miles a week. I stayed about 3 months and got tired of the 300 to 400 per week even doing lumper work. They put the abondonment crap on my DAC but western express ignored it as they know HT.
The oilfield doesnt use DAC so it doesnt matter to me.
All in all I can say HT is a company for rookies to start with and get experience. You dont get good pay BUT you get experience and experience is invaluable. I say the same for western express. pays sucks but you get experience and with that experience you move on.reefer75 Thanks this. -
