When the whole Arrow fiasco happened many could have stepped up and helped but very few actually did. Even though it was Christmas and corporate America could have helped. First how hard would it have been for Pilot, FLying J, Loves or T/A to step up and donate the fuel needed to these Arrow trucks to get them home. WOuld it have been that hard. They could have figured out how much fuel a truck needed to get to the drivers home area based on his CDL. They aren't afraid to ask us drivers for money. Just look how they pandered thier toys for tots charity at the cash registers and we the drivers gave. Yet they showed thier true feelings towards and drivers and proved we are just a source of money and nothing more.
What about the finance company that was demanding the trucks back. How easy would it have been to get with Pilot or any other truckstop and pay for fuel to the nearest dealer on the CDL holders address. They showed that they really cared less about the drivers. How many drivers really took advantage of the bus ticket offer from them.
Hey how about Greyhound or amtrak. How hard would it have been to give a free ride home to the driver again going by the address on his CDL.
Hey what about the unions? They claim to support the american worker. Why couldn't they do something. It sure would have changed my view or the unions. Just think of how many drivers could have used a kind act like this from the unions to help get unions into alot of these OTR companies. Hey teamsters you blew it big time. This was your 21st century chance to make a differnce.
OOIDA really helped, all they did was ask fellow drivers to get them home. It was a nice gesture but they could have done so much more, the lobbiest they employ could have been all over thier governmant reps and really pushed for some real help. I was gonna join OOIDA but not now.
How about our government? Some of them had to have seen it on the news and blogs. They claim to want to help the little man but they showed us thier true colors. It would have been a drop in the bucket to use some stimulas money to get these drivers home. Doesn't socialism mean the governmat taking care of its people. Well Obama blew one heck of a Chance to show he was differnt.
ALL I AM SAYING HERE IS DO WE REALLY NEED TO CARE ABOUT OUR IMAGE WHEN NO ONE REALLY GIVE A FLYING HOOT ABOUT US?????????
How about we stop buying all that over priced crap from the truckstops and start doing all our food and misc shopping at Walmart. Heck I have hauled more loads for Walmart than any of these other clowns. They have supported my family more than any of these so called trucker service type companies.
I am out
Many could of helped, few actually did.

I don't know about other companies, but every Swift driver received a message from HQ asking us to give Arrow drivers a ride home if we were going their way.
LavenderTrucker and JimTheHut Thank this. -
To lower yourself to the image that a few have of the truck driver is a sad way to make a point. Take the high road and use your behavior as a continuing example that not all truckers are messy, throw trash in the lot, abuse the restrooms and are lazy to boot.
It takes more effort to maintain a good rep but its worth it. IF you should lower yourself to the things you posted all your doing is letting people know how little you care, not all drivers.

As far as the fuel companies go they know the drivers were told to park the trucks , not take them home . They knew other help was being offered to the drivers . For all we know some fuel stop managers may have offered help .
The finance company ? Daimler ? The German corp that put thousands of Americans out of work and moved production to Mexico ? What a joke expecting them to care .
Maybe Greyhound or Amtrak could have done something . Amtrak doesn't cover that much territory and Greyhound has also cut a lot of routes .
The Teamsters ? They love it when these companies go under . The Teamsters are hurting for money . Their pension fund is in worse shape than Social Security . They can't afford to take care of their own .
OOIDA is another question . I wonder how many stranded drivers were OOIDA members . Did OOIDA give them any actual help ?
WalMart ? Talk about not caring about Americans . Go ahead and buy your beef from Mexico and clothes and appliances made in China at WalMart .luvtheroad, Working Class Patriot and freightliner1557 Thank this. -

If you want to trash out the truck stops in protest, be my guest - I'm not even going to try to explain the stupidity of that to you.
Just remember this -- when you pull into the truck stop looking for a parking space and see me taking up three parking spaces - it's not that I'm a lousy driver, it's merely my method of protesting. Sorry if it inconveniences you, it's nothing personal...Lonesome, Kabar, LavenderTrucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
I bet in the next few weeks we hear stories from Arrow drivers that were helped. The word got out for truckers everywhere to try to help. I agree Corperate America is not really worried about stranded truck drivers.
I am sure there were a lot of good drivers out there that were willing to help or did help. I will also bet these drivers weren't the ones that would even concider throwing PEE BOTTLES out in the parking lots.LavenderTrucker, PharmPhail and luvtheroad Thank this.
