    Before interstates There were 2 lane roads. Before there were get rich quick truck stops. There was hospitality, customer service,good food,free showers.These were call truck stops. Before there was the professional driver. There was the truck driver. Before there was Qualcomm there was payphones,. before there was Global Positioning System(GPS). There was maps. Before there were weigh stations. There was little spots on the side of the road with scales.Before there were Radio Rambo's there was truck driver's who helped each other.Before there were shipper's/receiver's with little tiny windows there was a office with hot fresh coffee kind people working there. Before there were Radio Rambo's there was truck driver's willing to lend a hand.(CAN YOU ADD SOMETHING THAT IS DIFFERENT)?

    You pretty much got it all covered az, I'm afraid we old fashioned drivers are on the endangered species list along with professional courtesy as well....... Wonder what it'll be like in 10 years....

    You got one thing backwards . Before there were " truck drivers " there were professional drivers . That's because before megacarriers there were ICC regulated carriers that paid well and didn't have over 100% turnover .

    Professional drivers never cried about HOS . They had armstrong steering , spring suspension, no a/c and heat that was usually inadequate yet they could drive 10 hours a day and not cry about needing a nap during the day .

    Before there were! Before rubber tiers with filled with air there were solid rubber tires on a steal wheel,before there were studio sleepers,condo sleepers. there were coffin sleepers. Before there were AC/Heat there was roll your window down hang a wet rag.Before there were power steering there were arm strong steering.Before there were air suspension there was spring suspension. Before there was a radio,CB, a track player,cassette player, A Walkman, cd player,mp3 player,i phone, there was nothing. Before there were Trucker (F******) There was highway patrolmen/police officers who helped you.Before there was hours of service(HOS) there were none. Before there were log books there were nothing.Before there were pilot/ta/petro/loves rewards cards There were Green Stamps. Before there were these big truck stop with no customer service. There were mom&pop places with excellent customer service, window washers good food friendly people.
