Howdy, I am not sure where this belongs so I post it here. Sold my rig today. I have been grooming a young man to carry on. He parked my other truck & went home Tuesday. He has been running hard and was close to his 70 hours. I let him drive mine on long hauls. The old KW he has been driving is about shot. Been with me almost three years. I trained him from the time he could not back a trailer onto a football field. He's pretty good. He don't sas me & listens. He has always admired the tractor since I first brought it home two years ago. I made him help me do things like PM so he would know the truck. I had help taking his stuff out of the old KW. Just a small TV his CB stuff like that. He has always said he is going to have a truck like I drive some day. Today he does. He has a "deposit" built up that is his anytime he wants it. 4500.00
His wife knows all about it. They have no kids and I am going to give them the thrill my wife and I knew. He will run under my numbers for a year. It's a very nice ride for a young couple to start with. Triple walk in, fridge air ride microwave, ect.
It's time to pull my saddle off the horse and let a new cowboy ride. He has what it takes, I made sure of that. Won't be no bank involved. It's my truck. If He wants it, it's His truck. I'm pretty sure he does.

It's getting harder to scale that ladder with chrome polish in my nail apron & a rag, to remove the bugs from the stacks. It's time a younger Man to do it.

Nice post Saddletramp - 2 others did the same for me 35yrs ago. Both Vietnam Vets with families while I was fresh out of school, single and looking for something "to do". Dennis had one of the first '76 KW 900 'two story' Aerodyne made with a 3408 450hp under an extended hood and Richie had same conventional with one of the first CAT 425hp direct injection motors made - NO GLOW PLUGS was cool!

Lost touch years ago "DGM" and "Black Beauty" if either are still paying attention!

After 30yrs working for the airlines have 14yr old son who might be interested in same . . . recently back "into driving" after a horrible 7mth stint with CR England to "reprove meddle" started into "flatbed ops" for first time just yesterday with small lumber company outside Atanta that pays great, on flat salary :biggrin_255: , and has me home EVERYNIGHT!

    Cheers!
