Shutting up the woman ratchet jawing on the CB

Several years back I was headed out to California & the closer I got to Greenville, TX, the louder this woman got who was hogging the truckers channel. I had a small linear on my CB & finally I was able to get a break. I told her I was delivering to a place in Greenville & asked if she might give me some driving direction. She told me she knew Greenville like the back of her hand just ask.


So I said, the address is not on the bill of laden its just got a Post Office box number, but it’s the place that buys used caskets, I feel sure there’s only one place in Greenville that deals with used caskets, do you happen to know where its located?

She comes back saying in a terrified voice, “Used caskets,” quite loud, “your hauling used caskets?” After everyone on the trucker channel heard that it got quite & no one was interrupting us.

I said, “That’s right, I’m hauling a whole truck load of used caskets, this 42 & 1/2 foot trailer is loaded from the front to the back with used caskets. And the bill of laden says Greenville, TX, now can you help me find the place?”

She came back saying, “Your hauing a load of sued caskets, when did they start selling used caskets?”

I asked her,”" “Have you she ever stayed around after a funeral service watching them cover a grave up?”

She replied, “No I haven’t, they usually will not start covering the casket up until everyone is gone.”

I them asked her, “Do you know why they make sure everyone is gone before they cover anything up?”

Her answer was, “No.”

I them told her, “They do that to make sure no one see’s them take the body out of the casket, bury the body, them take the casket back to the funeral home & sell it as a used casket, that has become a real money making business.”

After said that the CB got real quite, I forget what her CB handle was but I called here 3 or 4 times but she never answered me, I was hoping to shut her us & maybe I did. Perhaps she got on the landline calling family or friends asking them about the used casket business.

After just a bit someone called me by my handle asking me, “Do you really haul used caskets,?” of course I had to keep the story up for this woman I had been talking might be listening. Several locals kept me busy asking me where I picked them up & where all I deliver them to & did this job pay good. Finally I told them I’ve found the place where I will unload at in the morning so I’m going to shutdown everything & get me some sleep, I knew if I didn’t I would start fading out & they would know for sure I was just fooling with them.

I used that story several times with those women who only ratchet jaw & keeping our CB channel tied up & we could not get no info from other trucks. Sad, the good old days are gone forever.
