Decided I needed a good hotel room before I load in San Antonio, TX. Stopped at the W 601 Exit in Seguin, TX. Parked my 379 under the street light directly across from the Shell Travel Mart. Stayed the night in the hotel woke up and got back in my Pete. Set the brakes and went to turn on my CONNEX-366CE NIGHTSTALKER and it was gone, well then of course I see the passenger side view window is out. Dang. Stopped at the 604 exit Loves , to vet out any other missing items. In the truck I had about $6,000 worth of tools, and numerous other items, did not take any tools. All the wires were left in tact nice and neat. I then noticed that my aluminum clipboard was laying on the bed along with some other items that were previously in my back pack. I guess he didn't want to tool suspicious coming out of the truck that had been idle for the last couple of hours with no lights on. And then what did I find sitting next to the items he kindly did not steal? The window! He only wanted the radio, he even put back the window seal. Too bad his prints that were on the view window and on the roll down window weren't visible because he was using latex gloves. I found the gloves down the road a bit turned inside out and on the ground. Consider myself lucky that he didn't take anything else and had enough respect to leave all the invoices for the week.
Has anyone had this slick cb theft executed to their trucks. It seems like he is no stranger to this game. I think he is a driver

Yup, happened to me in Corbin, KY. I think it was a Super8 motel. Truck parking was well lit at the rear of the motel. I checked in early so was able to park within 8' of my motel room window. The truck was locked. Same deal as the op, the next morning I reached over to turn on the cb, it was gone but all the wiring was left unharmed. I drove a 1990 International cabover, he took out my side view window but didnt leave the window or the window seal.
I also lost my 6" tv & 2 boxes of cassette tapes but at least he didnt tear anything up.
I called the cops, they came out & took a report. The cop asked where I was parked when I got broken into, he was amazed that someone had the balls to mess with my truck right outside my room. Cop thought I might have a chance to get my stuff back, he knew a couple of meth heads that regularily did breakins at that exit but I never heard anything about my stuff (big surprise). After that whenever I got a motel room I unhooked my cb (and later my XM sat radio) & carried it into the room. Lesson learned! That was the only time anyone messed with my truck over 20 yrs, I guess the odds caught up with me.

    Tall Mike Thanks this.
