Most embarrassing moment as a trucker.

A fellow driver I met back in 95'. He was in his 60's then. Told me a story of his.

He was driving down 17 out of Binghamton,NY heading to NYC . he pulled over to "squirt the dirt".

He walked over to his passenger side gab between tank and duals. When he is tapped on the should which startled him. He spun around with " it" still in hand. And peed all over the gun belt of the NY .state trooper. He said he sat in jail for the night.

 

This happened a few months back. This is the most embarrassing to date. ( witnesses )

Former employer UPS has a hub a block away from my current Employer Terminal. Sincere brain fart. Rolled up to security gate after a long dang day. Knew exactly jumping out the cab was at the wrong place, Luckily was friendly with guard on duty and played it off pretended to see how my good ole buddy ole timer guard was doing. chatted for a few minutes and let me inside to turn around and head to my terminal

 

It's not call rotten ronney's for nothing ya know.

 

He never checked the load before he left...
Very rookie mistake ...
You always check your load and never trust that it will not move in the back of any trailer, because it will move in some way not matter what.
And you always check your load is secured at every stop and recheck it before you leave.
5 minute check can save your but and your load.

 

I tripped off the curb coming out of the loves in Ripon landing on my butt and spilling the coffee i had just bought all over myself right there in front of everybody.

 

Both of these happened to me, except I only had a day cab, no sleeper to get into. There is complete panic for a few seconds until you realize that you are not moving. I thought I was the only one.

 

My most embarrassing was standing inline at the shower kiosk. As I dropped my bag a "buzzing" sound commenced - it was NOT a vibrator... I simply like to keep a low profile via cordless groomer. Yet, it threw me off my game enough that I simply left to the sound of fading chuckles..

 

My friends just made a giant screw up were in some pissy ### Louisiana town when he goes to make a turn to get fuel when he calls me a cop tried to cut him off as he was going in the cop wad trying to beat him to get out when is 43000 lbs load and trailer tamdems decides to run over his hood and the bottom of the trailer colapses on the cop car

Sounds to me like you were rolling northbound on I 49 between opelousas amd alexandria. Mighty hilly right there. Terrible for a hangover going up and down the hills and getting seasick at 75 in a little ford ranger.
