I never could blind side back worth a #### in a (non day cab) semi. I was at a receiver one time where it was my only option. A brick wall on one side, and huge dumpster on the other. I had to back in off the street. Well,...... I stuck it in hole perfectly after a couple pull-up's. I got out of the truck feeling pretty ####y with myself and brought my paperwork in. The forklift driver told me he would get to me asap. I went back to the truck to clean up my logs and get a knock on my door a couple minutes later.

Forklift Driver : Sir, would you mind opening your van doors?

Didn't go as easy the second time. The forklift driver was pretty cool about it and and we had a good laugh after. He said many drivers struggle to back in here.

There are days I think getting into this business in the first place was the stupidest thing I've ever done in my life...

    ...then I remember that ex-wife.

I bet we've all done that. I know I have...after showing a waiting, newly solo CR England driver how to back into a tight dock in Detroit. Talk about embarrassing.

In a hurray to shut down after dropping my load. Landing gear down, release handle pulled. Forgot lines and power cord. Luckily no damage.

Forst ever load. Hook to mt. Get underneath, check release handle, tug test, landing gear up lines hooked. Didnt check locking jaws. Hear boom. Look and trailer half way off truck. Luckily stopped before i pulled all the way. Dropped landing gear. Backed under again...over year later check still check locking jaws.

Doing walmart regional load. Walmart store Sioux Falls, SD. Relied on company directions. Nothing said can only enter the dock one certain way. Found store. In parking lot with cars during Christmas 2013. Have to do u turn in parking lot chalked full of cars. Get going right way. Find alley way with other trucks. Driver tells me turn left out of alley left into.dock area. Big boulder on left where tandems were to go. Was supposed to turn right. No room to turn around. Had to backup onto street to pull in right way in busy downtown area. Finally get in lot. Middle dock door open took one hour to get in.

That store is a prime example of Google Maps being your friend. If you come at it from the street behind the store, it's easy as pie. I live near there, and I wouldn't want to be in that front lot on a slow day...

i dont know if he was a rookie or not, but three days ago, saw a guy hit a concrete barrier with his tandems

the sound was so loud, people thought a bomb had went off, bent two rims and blew out all four tires and bent the under carriage

he was making a turn out of the driveway and cut it too early

he must have been driving pretty fast with a full load, i really felt bad for the guy
