Alright, Ive had a nightmare of a time with CRST so far but here's the bright spot in my training that no matter where I go I can always take with me :)

I had gone through orientation in Cedar Rapids Iowa for 4 days + 2 waiting around. I was hooked up with a 44 year trainer who was coming onto the company as a first time lease through the no money down program. He came in straight to be a trainer because obviously I could act as an extra log book for him and throw down the miles to earn him lots of extra dough. After all he claimed this big previous 11 years trucking experience......

We were hooked up with a rental car to travel from Cedar Rapids, IA down to OKC (approx. 700 miles.) so we could puck up his truck at the terminal there. Basically before we got into the rental I knew he and I weren't going to work out. He was playing the big daddy boss card and he didnt have one ounce of common sense in his head.........

First things first, he is an owner operator now and he can take his own routes and he is responsible for his own tolls. So there is no way we are taking a rental car through the $7.00 worth of tolls from Kansas to OKC. SO instead, we drive over 300 extra miles out of the way to avoid those tolls. All I could do is laugh to myself. Nearly 3/4 EXTRA tank of gas to avoid $7.00 dollars in tolls... Do the math..... an extra 4.5 hours in the car... DEE DEE DEE Not too mention he had to fill the car up with gas with his own money and he didnt keep track of one of the receipts..... LMFAO ROFLMFAO AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

    That was day one.

Day 2 we get to the yard and look at his truck. And this is where I almost felt sorry for him, except I realize the company is screwing me just as bad, if not worse. They gave him a truck with 720,000 miles on it...... The starter is bad, the A/C doesnt work, the radio is ripped out, the truck was obviously in a fairly major front end collsion, the truck has duct tape and duct tape marks in several areas. The truck needs 3 and a half days worth of repairs in the shop and when its done it still comes out with 720,000 miles on it.. Not something I would be shelling $575 a week for.

While all this is going on, Im growing more and more frustrated with CRST, with this trainer, and with this situation. I received no pay for the orientation week, and I didnt get paid while this truck was being serviced for several days. Too bad I can't explain that to the bank or the bill collectors and just have them put my bills on hold. Too bad this trainer is lazy and very bad at communication, because he could have had some loads set up for us BEFORE the truck was done being serviced.

Fast forward to day 5.... The truck gets done late late in the afternoon and at this point Im bugging him to start setting up loads, I need to start making money.. Thats why I accepted this job ######:biggrin_25516: His response is that he aint taking any loads until he gets a truck wash. Alright howdy doody the TA one exit away has a 24 hour truck-o-mat and the company will even pay for it..... Nope, its too late for that, he's had a long day sitting in a recliner at the terminal watching Law &Order and eating Sonic, we wouldn't want to kill innocent civilians by driving 2 miles and getting the truck washed in these conditions..............................

Day 6..... We get the truck washed and time is running thin now. I can no longer sit on my hands and Im ready, if his ### dont get in gear today, Im leaving him... So he pretends he is looking for loads on his laptop all day, however, when I climb up to the top bunk and look down Im staring at his browser and seeing lonelyhousewife.com. I am constantly in and out of the truck discussing things with my wife and he finally tells me found a load and what a surprise it goes right through nashville and we can stop and see his family for a few days:biggrin_25511:... But the load doesnt pick up for another 2 DAYS.. so we will head about 25 miles north of OKC and chill at a love's up there until its time to pick up our load...

Day 6 nighttime(action time) we have both been playing on our laptops all afternoon and he runs in to get a shower, he comes out looking like freakshow, smelling like he bathed in cologne, proclaiming its time for me to learn the ropes of life on the road... So he trolls the CB radio for 2 hours looking for working girls... And low and behold theres a bunch sitting at the next truck stop to us, some small rinky dink spot that closes at 11pm. I can see it in his eyes, he's hit the motherload, he is so proud of himself that he thinks he's impressing me sooo well. And I can tell he is so nervous that im not sure what hooker is going to sleep with him with drawers full of dookie.... So he fumbles around with the hookers on the radio for an hour or so because he is too chicken #### to make his move. So i egg him on a bit for fun, and inflate his trusty marble pouch, and he drops our empty trailer right there and bobtails next store. The truck stop is closed at this point and Im a little nervous myself.... All my personal belongings are in the truck and this dude is going to bring a money hungry broad up in here. It takes a bit, but..... they walk by, he flashes his lights, and BINGO, its time for me to lose my trucking virginity without ever dropping a load, or picking one up for that matter.....
He gets one in the truck and Im trying to explain to him that Im broke BECAUSE I HAVENT MADE A DIME IN 2 WEEKS, but have no fear he'll drop me the $40 bucks for a good time :biggrin_25517:..... Sigh..... When I flat out refuse, they ask me to leave the truck, so I grab my laptop and GTFO..

Now Im walking around the truck stop waiting for this junk to be over with and its closed.... there happens to be 2 groups of girls running around this truck stop tonight and while Im outside I come across the second group..... There are 3 of them and they can't be more than 16 years old, and my oh my are they aggressive. One has their hands in between my legs another is grabbing for my wallet and the third is asking where my truck is... LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL! SO i shake them off somehow and wait another 25 minutes until he comes around and picks me up..

Day 7 comes, and Im done with this ###### and possibly this company Ive been away from home just over 2 weeks, Ive received NO pay, the bills are still coming in and all we are doing is dicking our life away.. SO i wait until 10 am and call the FM and Im not happy and I explain to him the situation... Turns out this trainer of mine turned down at least 2 loads from the company because he only wanted one that went near his home......... I don't know if im fortunate or not but the FM did help me out and it took another 3 days, but he found me a trainer, and this one is a very hard worker and is actually teaching me things out here....I still havent made a penny, but Ive dropped 2 loads and hopefully will see pay by next thursday...

Anyways, thats my very first story from the road. Going through a nightmare trainer and experience like that, I guess things can only get better from here hey :biggrin_2554:......

Im not sure exactly what has happened to him about the hooker.

I was told that it would be dealt with and I might have to deal with the proper department down the road... I havent heard anything yet, so who knows.

I don't really care to get the man in trouble, let him be, lol he will haven enough problems to deal with I can already tell. Im just glad I had a rock solid reason to ditch the douchebag
