Did anybody here see that 18-wheeler on fire today on I-20/59 Birmingham, AL? It happened around noon, I passed there some mins after the accident... A huge cloud of gray smoke could be seen 1 mile away... I was going northeast on I-20... All the traffic going northeast had to use the right shoulder... There was debris all over the interstates. I-20/59 SW was totally shut down for hrs. I heard truck was going south and hit the concrete wall, the cab separated from the trailer and ended on the northeast road and caught on fire. The trailer ended between both highways and was also on fire. What a scene!!
Unfortunately, I got so mesmerized and distracted by that scene that I forgot to get the camera in the sleeper berth and couldn't use my cell phone camera because the battery was dead...
It would have been an incredible picture, as I passed right next to the truck and trailer in flames....
Thank God nobody was hurt.... Unbelievable!!! The cab was a complete wreck...
I found some news about this accident here http://www2.alabamas13.com/news/2012...am-ar-3760730/

Home again... "still" but 374 Miles driven today through torrential rain at times and two hail storms one of which left me 1st on the scene of a 4 wheeler wreck. Apparently she did not know that a road that looks as if it is snow covered due to hail accumulation WILL be slick.

Bishopville, SC. I thought this Wilco looked familiar. I've been here once before.

Who would think that balls of ice falling from the sky to the ground would make the road slick

It's amazing the number of people I've heard say they didn't realize hail in the spring or summer would make it slick
ND, I'm not gonna be much help to him. You see, as his best friend, I'm kind of insane, myself
I would like to see some video of the 2 of you leg wrassling, that could be some cheap entertainment.
I got your PM, but it will likely be the weekend before I get time to respond. I do appreciate the info you provided. I'll definitely be looking in to that area. Thank you.

Apparently, a weather babe recently was on-scene of a hail event and grabbed a handful on camera. She immediately threw it down and exclaimed, "That's ice!"...Yah Think?
