No longer driver for roehl.. but heard a funny story. just looking to verify it.

Is it true that, the newer units equiped with an apu unit, are having the AC power limited to a 2 hour duration. then auto resets after a 10 hour period?

So in simpler words, you can only watch tv for 2 hours then the power goes off.

If it is true .... funnier them hell

If it is false .... Wouldn't put it past your management, seems like something they would do.

    Just curious :)

    True

If you plug your tv directly into the inverter then yes. If you still use the 12volt plug then no.

Wow, that is really gay. I would be seriously pissed to have to deal with that. If you have to take a 34, then what are you supposed to do?

I heard this from another driver too. I wonder why they did this? Doesn't affect me at all since I don't have an apu or a tv.

for those of you that had a Roehl truck with an APU is this really much of a change. They weren't the most reliable things out there and repairs hardly ever got done on the road. I'm sure there is more to it than screwing the drivers to save money, but if they don't explain why it's being done that's going to be the feeling.

The reason we got was "premature inverter failure" due to drivers having to many things plugged into them.

It is a bit of a change...it was nice to be able to brew a pot of coffee whenever we wanted to.

Ahh, ok. At least it's a reason, better than nothing.

True...but it does get old when all of us get the shaft because a few drivers don't take care of their stuff.

That's the same way I felt when the set all the trucks to 63. I'm guessing, and believe me it's just a guess, that this has something to do with being a SmartWay Partner, orwith a grant for more APU's.

Wow that's crazy.. get u a 400 watt inverter that still plugs into cig lighter to run it. It would run a tv or brew coffee just only 1 at a time. Its like 30 bucks. Sucks but still. Sucks they are doing that!
