Yeah well im gonna think positive about all this, even though i don't like all the reg's that they throw at us. I do need to loose atleast 25 lbs which would put me back down to the body weight that i was for most of my youth which is around 205 lbs. Last week i weighed 230 lbs, cut back on just about all the crap i injest all week long, and lost close to 5 lbs, so now im down to 226 lbs.
5 lbs more and i can drop off the obese part of the chart, and just be over weight. I just see the light at the end of the tunnel now, which means no more two slices of pizza to go with the big swigg of moutain dew to wash it down. The chilly dogs, and pop tarts, chips, peanut butter cups, double quarter pouder meals from Mc Donalds are all taking its toll on me.
So its time to get real about all this BMI crap and deal with it because i dont think its going away any time soon.

They want you to have a neck that is smaller than 17"??? My neck hasn't been that small since I was in 6th grade.
I'm 6'4" and about 440 lbs., so I'm sure they will put me through every test imaginable for sleep apnea.
I was talking to a guy at our drop yard recently and he said that after taking his physical, they were going to require a sleep apnea test from him. I don'k know exactly what he meant, but I thought he said that he would be allowed to be tested at home by his family. Is this possible? Has anyone else heard this? -
VA dignosed me with Sleep Apnea but had surgery and they said it is fixed.(Rhino plasty and my uvila trimmed.

I know i get tired at different times of the day, but mostly after i have something with a bunch of sugar in it, then i feel like a napp. But as far as sleep apnea goes, if whats seen on YouTube about sleep apnea, where some of those videos seem creepy to me, how the people stop breathing and gasping for air. My wife of 25yrs tells me that i have never done anything like that while i sleep, so i know i dont have it.
This one size fits all crap where they line us all up, the drivers under 17" go to one side of the room, and the drivers over 17" go to the other side of the room. Pretty soon we'll start see'ing C-PAP pumps on the fuel isle, then we can collect fuel purchace points for C-PAP aswell. (What ever)Last edited: Jan 9, 2012

I am just under 6ft and also 230,never looked at bmi but i am an ex jock/wrestler with huge neck and legs just a 38 waist.
Have also been deciding between Scheinder and Roehl as i am about to start school...
Looks like Roehl is going to help with that decision, huh ?
Pumpkin it is... -
actually, if you come up on physical for sleep apnea, they give you a 6 month card.. then once your insurance kicks in they have you do the in home study and get you a cpap machine if needed... on your home time...you are hired ... dont believe the hype guys call recruiting if your confused or worried about it
very few have to complete the study BEFORE coming in anymore -
So after paying the deductible and fighting with Roehl's insurance to get the bill payed you get to keep your job. Sounds allot easier for new driver's just to go someplace else. It also sounds discriminatory against tall big men even if they were in shape they still could be close or over the neck limit. Sounds like a lawsuit in the works and recruiting headache to me.

actually all that has changed too MP75 but yes you can always go somewhere else, except FMCSR will make it mandatory... soon... so wont be anywhere to go... and yes it also works for REcert physicals in a year or 2...no escaping the new regulations..unless you turn in your truck
