roehl miles

hey guys,

roehl is my top choice as i prepare to graduate this week. can anyone give me their average miles per week on the 7/4-7/3 plan? or any of their hometime plans? also how are things going with the company? are they good with their hometime? do they get you home when they say they will? any input will be greatly appreciated. thanks

hey, im on 14/7, ive been getting about 2500 to 3000 miles in a week, and i am always back home when i am supose to be. Im pretty happy with roehl for now, i just wish the trucks went faster, there governed at 63mph, but its all good, but if you have any more questions ill be glad to try and help you out.

i am also thinking bout goin with roehl. i start school in october and im excited to get started. i am also interested in the hometime fleet program. how close to the terminal do you have to live to be in the hometime program? I live about 3-1/2 hrs from closest terminal. also does roehl travel out west? thank you very much.

I can't tell you anything about their hometime fleets, but I live in Reno, NV and will start orientation with Roehl on Sep 10. Out west, Phoenix is their only terminal and they have a drop yard in Fontana, CA. (that's what my recruiter told me, even tho the website lists Fontana as a terminal...) From Phoenix they run nationwide and Western regional flatbed. I'm choosing nationwide to see more country, and get more miles and more pay. Western regional pay is 31 CPM, national is 33 CPM. The wife can suffer (celebrate) without me for an extra few days between shifts. lol

I drive on the Van National fleet out of Florida. Your miles can and will vary depending on where you live and how long you stay out. They say national drivers average 2200 per week which I haven't this year. But when you and the extra stuff like extra stop and detention it does appe ar I have averaged over 2300 miles per week. If you stay out 18 and home 4 days you can easily make $41000 in your first full calendar year. Hometime fleets seem to be a joke to me cause you really don't make anything. And when freight gets low your miles will suffer greatly

To each his own. Staying out 18 days and getting 4 days at home seems like a bad joke to me. I was a 7/7 trainer for seven years and made more that 41k every year.

Fontana doesn't have truck bays, but there is somebody that works there as a load planner. There is also a shower & bathroom, and a little tv lounge that can be used any time. Phoenix has a handful of people working there, truck bays, and a bathroom you can use inside...until they all go home. I didn't see a shower there or any kind of tv lounge.

Smart move!! You probably will always be out west anyway and get the extra 2 CPM to boot!!

so is the hometime fleet worth it in your opinion?how close do u have to be to terminal to be on hometime fleet? does roehl do all 48 states or just mainly eastcoast?

Hometime fleet isnt worth it in my current situation. If your the only income to make it for your family I'd go national. I was 2 1/2 hrs from the Jacksonville yard when I was 14/7. I do know if you have to be a certain distance or not. We have terminals and drop yards so depending on which of the two your close to would be where you park the truck for hometime fleet. I've run mostly southeast, northeast, and midwest. Other drivers have had runs out west. From my understanding west coast region drivers handle the freight out that way but I could be wrong.
