    Cameras in trucks

Anyone know if it's true that Roehl has cameras in the trucks to monitor the drivers?

    LOL....

on the factual side, yes a few trucks do have it. Rumors everywhere on who gets a camera, but I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe 20 trucks total out of nearly 2000 and I am probaby exaggerating.

I've "heard" that rumor never seen one I don't have one, but some companies have crash cameras in their trucks that could be what u mean. I drove for an ambulance company for a few years that had em. The cameras would go off if u drove crazy or hit huge potholes or swerved but their main purpose was to show what happened in a wreck. You can see the videos of some on youtube. The cab driver flipping is quite a crazy one.

I've seen one, friend had one in his truck when he upgraded to trainerhood. He asked his FM what it was, and got told "Oh, camera, it takes pictures when you have a crash event to verify that you're wearing your seatbelt, not chatting on the phone, that sorta stuff..." Friend said OK, and would cover it with a hat. next day, his FM calls him, and asks if he's covering the camera. My friend told him "Nope, must be broken. Guess we oughta write it up for maintenance to remove it." FM said "OK, yeah, let's do that." They pulled it out in Gary. Haven't seen one since.

There are a few in Roehls fleet that have them.....for various reasons...I ran into a trainer once at the mothership that was getting one installed on his truck at HIS REQUEST...cause he got tired of getting blamed for when a student would hard break or do something stupid...
