Upgraded to gold plan this year with UHC. Also got on the Health Care savings account thing. They send you a visa card in the mail to pay for your copays or ALL pays as I call them with UHC. If you get the card be sure to activate it because it takes a business day for it to activate..lmao. I'm hoping my next doctor visit this card will work its not like i have a lot of time to mess with sending in receipts for reimbursement.

spent about two hours on and off on the phone with UHC and others trying to figure out/verify my coverage for a particular prescription I'm on.

United Health Care continues to be a pain in the #####. It's not so much that they don't cover stuff it's just all the hoops you have to go through and the people you talk to on the phone do not make coverages, etc.. clear.

OOIDA now has a health care exchange that meets the ACA-Obamacare rules. Check what they have to offer and maybe it's a better deal than trucking company insurance.

thanks Chinatown...don't get me started..alas you did. I am an indentured servant in the united states for another 4.5 years due to my divorce..lol, not sure how i could get around the employers insurance other than to land in the nazi family court and get sentenced to hard time in the goolag or by hanging in Berlin by piano wire.

It does bring up a point, however, with the ACA now, might be worth it for some drivers to consider opting out of the employers plan, especially if you are paying family rate and smoke for instance and can grab up some of that free government cheese money. I can't say that i've seen it posted anywhere here but it might make for a better arrangement for some if they tried and did the research.

I should be a little nicer to UHC because i know if I had something big i would get coverage, however, listing copays when in fact they don't really exist until you reach your initial deductible is really a joke and confusing for the layman.

Maybe our government would have done better by enacting a law called "the simplification of health care insurance act" instead of the ACA. Before you know it we will all be needing to go to H and R block in order to get our health care finances and charges reported and charged correctly.

That actually brings up the question of whether or not you could opt-out of the Roehl insurance and go through the Healthcare.gov Exchanges since Roehl seems to be charging more than 9.5% of the income that any 7-on/7-off driver would make.
