Truck Driver 101 must have issues with Roehl. He must only know 7/7 drivers or drivers who are not very good at what they do. Something tells me he is a very inefficient driver and has exposed himself with his comments.

My first week (years ago) with Roehl I was at $.25 a mile and cleared more than $250. Every driver I knew was pulling down well above what he said.

Let's face it, Truck Driver 101 is lying and trying to make Roehl look bad. There are plenty of truths out there that make Roehl look bad without lying. If revenge is his motive he need only echo the honest complaints that speak of all the anti veteran driver moves Roehl has made these past three years.

If he's not making more than what he said then he truly must be an awful driver.

Yes dirksteel, he might have an ulterior motive, was surprised to hear this because I have been researching many companies the past few years and have always heard mostly positive of Roehl. There certainly are some good youtube truckers out there that seem to offer sound advice. Also considering Swift simply because they haul for a Wal Mart Distribution Center near where I live and are hiring new drivers that get home most every day, very long days though from what I hear. Also thinking of Schneider, Knight, and Averitt (but I think you may have to have some experience to go with Averitt) Thank you all for your advice, still have over a year to decide so have plenty of time.

I didn't know Schneider offered that, will check and see if they offer it around here, thanks.

I know I'm late to this convo, but heres my exp. I started 9/2013 and have been averaging 400-600 on most weeks. Have had some weeks 600-1000 and others 200-300, but these are rare weeks. More frequent on the low side during horrid weather months like Jan, Feb, and tail of Dec. But for a grand total to end of year earnings in those three months, made 10K. So, if that average holds, this will be a 40k a year job for me.

    With benefits. Lots of insurances.

I am starting school with Roehl next week. This thread makes me feel even better about my decision to go with Red. Now, if I can just make it through school.

I didn't go through their school but I have always heard its a good one. Best of luck u will have good and bad weeks with them I assure you. But stick it though for at least a year or more and then you will be able to start making a lot better money with other carriers.

Yep sounds about avg. This is always a bad time for loads. They tend to slow down some and the weather messes it up. But starting march on it will pick up typically for dry van.. its ### backwards for bulk plastic. We are chasing our tail jan-april with companies stocking up for summer and we slow down some in the summer lol

All depends, I'm a flatbed guy now, did van national before. I've not had a real day off while out. Got a light van load right now, first time I've ever had one since going to flat, but can happen.
