Plan on getting my CDL next year and am looking at Roehl and a few others. Saw on a youtube channel truck driver 101 I believe who says he does not know of any Roehl drivers making over a couple hundred a week. The only ones making any money are team drivers. Any current Roehl drivers on here familiar with this. I know this has been asked before but what is the pay currently like at Roehl. Pay is not too big an issue with me because I will have a retirement plan coming in and need to supplement my income... am even considering the 7/7 schedule. I dont really expect to make much more than 500 a week my first year anyway. Roehl has always been at the top of my list so am just curious about this, thanks.

Company drivers can expect between 500 - 800 weekly. You will have weeks that are below this and above this but that is about average. I have been with Roehl for 3 years. 2 as a company driver and 1 as a lease operator. You will have bad weeks just the nature of the business. Roehl is a good company to start with but as you gain experience and knowledge after about 2 years you will start to look for a local gig or a company that caters to experienced drivers.

Thanks glowsticks, that is definitely doable for me to start. Truck driver 101 says he knows of no drivers making more than 250 a week for Roehl which is something I never heard before, maybe just in his area I dunno. Don't see how they could keep anyone for that pay.

I started with roehl in 2010 and worked with them till 2012 .... even then when the economy was at its worst only checks I got that low were ones during my home time... typically after all deductions u look at 500-800 bring home is pretty avg. As mentioned above. So don't believe that crap.. Roehl is one of the better starting companies out there. Some are able to make it work long term. But like most of us companies like Roehl you work for 2 years making a lil money to get your time in and move on to the companies that pay more for experience drivers.

So I guess if I worked the 7/7 I would be looking at 500-800 twice a month. May do that and a little something else on the side or just go all out and do national. Thanks for the advice lastrebel.

I would agree with lastrebe. I ran flatbed national in 2010, made between 700 and 1000 in the busy season and 600 and 800 when it was slow. I stayed out 24 days tho so I believe I got some better runs bc they knew I was gonna be out for a while and not asking for home time.

Roehl is one of the better companies out there, but just in case you didn't know there are quite a few other companies that offer a 7 on 7 off schedule now. Schneider, Marten, Knight, are three I can think of off hand, there are more.

I have read roehl did something with the insurance benefits for drivers running 7/7 guess they cut it back or raised the rates something like that.. might wanna check that if u are thinking of that

I think they are a little more expensive than national fleet. I believe goblue posted it was like $17 more
